Fraudulent charge. I have been receiving a bill from Bayhealth Kent campus for an MRI. I have never been in this hospital. My only connection is seeing a Dr. Rather three times in his office. Somehow they got my Medicare information and billed Medicare approximately $437. I reported the fraud to the Medicare Fraud division. I have repeatedly tried to contact the hospital to have them remove the charge only to be stuck in their "phone tree". The hospital claims I have to contact billing. Billing claims it is not their responsibility and I have to contact the hospital. Next the hospital claims it is not their responsibility because it originated in the Radiology department. Yet the Radiology department is located in this hospital. Also I'm not impressed with Dr. Rather. I suspect he order the MRI and did not inform me. Of the three visits the only information I received was a rehash of my visits to the Beebe facilities in Sussex County and what a "GREAT" surgeon he is. Finally I have written a letter to CEO Terence Murphy. If this doesn't generate some action my next step will be to contact the Better Business Bureau, the Division of Consumer Affairs and the various newspapers throughout the State. Looking at the reviews I see that mine is not the first case of fraud. I thought the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere had a bad reputation but this hospital makes them look like a 5 star operation.

They treat you like trash and get attitudes when you're having a miscarriage so imagine if you're dying they probably won't help you. No bed side manners at all I never talk to my patients the way they talk to people. You can be in pain and they don't check on you for hours. They are the most negligent hospital I've ever been in. It's as if they let just anyone work here no training at all and no mannners. Disgusting people. I'll be driving the extra 40 min to Christiana at least they treat you like a human there.

Do not go to this hospital!! Early April 2025 my mom went in for a simple heart procedure according to them done a million times . They tore her heart and she started bleeding, she actually flatlined (which they NEVER disclosed) we found out later . 6 months later my mom passed away. I have had many stomach surgeries there and EVERY surgery messed me up more! 10 yrs later same problems. Had to go there unfortunately the other day due to a major car accident, after a Cat scan and a MRI - they missed two cracked ribs and a cracked sternum I only went in cause two weeks after the pain did not go away . When I went to emergency, there was only one person waiting in there 7:30 in the morning. I did not leave until eight hours later the nurses walk around they wanna act like they're busy doing stuff. They'll tell you OK they'll be in 10 minutes. 15 minutes to go over this with you, the doctors and all that turns in to 45 minutes later every time. One nurse after I got tired of sitting in my room I got up to walk to the door of my room, just to get exercise back-and-forth, looking down the hall, wondering why nobody had came in after hours, and the nurse looked at me in the hall and said you need to go back in your room and sit down Ordered me to go in my room and sit down like she had that authority and I told her oh I don't think so. I've been here eight hours. This is insane and I can walk down the hall or do whatever I want. I'm not grounded in this room. This hospital has been this way for years and years and years like I said my mother died there on the table and they were so negligent to tell us six months later she died so unless you wanna die, do not go there I recommend Smyrna Hospital in and out within a two hour wait I don't know what is wrong with this hospital, but this has been this problem for 20+ years. I Will not personally ever go back to that hospital in Dover. Their great cardiac team/great doctors that literally miss important stuff. They will miss it and they will not catch it and it might end up in your death. Trust me go somewhere else.

Very slow ER experience. Luckily only had to wait 6 hours but I was practically the first one in the waiting room so I guess their treatment beds were all full? Reception was not allowed to let me know how much longer for the wait. They were very nice though. The Triage unit was quick to take my blood and urine sample. Saw 3 people get put into the ER waiting room who were throwing up and they were forced to wait a decent amount of time. I think they had come from triage so the treatment beds were probably all full. I finally got into treatment after about 6 hours or so. One nurse in the ER was not very nice but the rest seemed fine. She seemed to wonder why I threw up but she had given me a potassium pill which was nasty as hell. She didn't seem to want to clean me up afterwards and just could not figure out why I threw up to begin with. She acted like I was crazy for throwing up. Luckily she decided to just administer the potassium through my iv instead which is a much better experience. The ER doctor was also pretty nice and was quick to diagnose me. After about 5 hours in the treatment ward, I was admitted to a hospital room (large kidney stone was found in my CT Scan which explained the severe pain I was having) Shoutout to Nurse Lizzie and Nurse Mariam I believe her name was, in the clinical observation unit B 1st floor. Nurse Mariam if I'm remembering if that was the one who mostly took care of me, spoke with an African or Haitian accent I believe. Very nice. They were the best nurses I had during my stay and definitely made me as comfortable as possible. Nursing Assistant Esther was not bad either but she had a tough to understand accent, but that's ok. She did a great job making sure I was comfy and my room/bathroom were all clean. I did not learn the other nurses names since they are very quick to go to a different patient. They are definitely shorthanded on nurses and it usually took at least 5-10 minutes for someone to respond to any of my calls. ER was the worst experience due to the waiting but it was slightly faster than it was when my mom had to go to the ER last time. But definitely don't expect to be waited on quick in the ER. I did have surgery due to how large my stone was and they did a great job and the recovery unit nurses were also very nice. Dr Lian the urologist who performed my surgery was very quick and nice. He also explained everything really well. Once again, I did not get to learn the recovery unit nurses' names since they were quick to move me back to my room to let me rest and also I was still having effects from the anesthesia so it's easy to forget everything. Food was questionable. Not seasoned too well and very bland. But I've heard of worse hospital food so it was ok for the most part. I was discharged Saturday and was admitted Thursday but felt like I was in there for a while. At least the discharge was quick. If I ever have to go back, I hope they are much quicker at getting me into treatment or a room for admission. But I do understand they are pretty shorthanded on nurses and doctors. And I also understand I was not the only one in pain. Just hope the ER part is able to safely and effectively wait on people quicker in the near future.

I would think twice before sending my love one to this hospital. Some of the nurses are extremely rude and racist. I spend the night with my child after her surgery and the second day I was told by the charge nurse Samantha thatI I couldn't stay with my child. After I left security was called on the floor and she had the audacity to question my child asking her if she was safe around me. This is racism at its finest.
