I visited the hospital emergency room yesterday and waited 5 hours with my friend to be seen. The nurses station personnel was cold and dismissive. They never even offered my friend water. Then the vending machine took my money. The security guard was the nicest person on staff.

I cannot believe what an incredible experience we had at the ER in Sonoma. My friend hurt her finger. The staff was responsive and caring. Dr. Fenton was especially amazing. He was compassionate and timely. My friend was very nervous and he made her feel at ease. He took care of her with professionalism and kindness. Thank you Dr. Fenton, Terrance and the great staff at Sonoma Valley Hospital!

I went to the ER with very serious neurological symptoms: burning pain in my crotch, buttocks, and legs, electrical shock sensations, and bladder problems. I was told it was "just stress" and was sent home without any meaningful testing or help. It later turned out I had cauda equina syndrome from a horseback riding incident -- a true medical emergency that requires urgent treatment to prevent permanent nerve damage. The ER completely missed this and did nothing to help me. Being dismissed like this when I was in pain was not only disheartening, it was dangerous. Patients deserve to be heard and taken seriously, especially when presenting with red-flag neurological symptoms. I hope this hospital improves its training and response so no one else has to go through what I did.

Doctors are often great but make sure you don't have any re-occurring addiction issues if you want to feel welcome here. If they see you too many times they will make sure you get the hint to go somewhere else. Happily.

Dr. Smith from the ER saved my son from being completely paralyzed. We came in with unusual acute paralysis on his left side and Dr Smith took it very seriously and consulted with children's hospitals. We were transported within hours and my son started treatment in a record 24 hours from onset. His condition has only been diagnosed in 500 kids ever! Rare neurological condition and Dr Smith is responsible for truly changing the path of my 9 year olds life. THANK YOU
