Patient
Went in for EKG requested by a plastic surgeon $75. SD Cardio told me I have AFib. Told me to I should see the Dr Cardiologist. Gave me a price range of $123-$256. Told me it will most likely be $123 unless they have to spend extra time. Set up an appointment. Was called next day by staff saying they have a cancellation and can see The Dr next day. Went in, never saw the actual Dr. Only saw an assistant that told me everything I had already read about AFib. They charged me the full $256. The assistant then prescribed Metoprolol and wanted to set up another appointment to see the actual DR at a later date. After leaving the center, I started researching SD Cardio and saw how many bad reviews they had. Then I started searching for a place with a better reputation to get a second opinion and be treated for this AFib. I then purchased a Cardia Mobile 6L. After several weeks of taking the meds they prescribed, I have started having worse Afib attacks, much closer together, lasting much longer with more intense symptoms. Called SD Cardio at 11am to ask about stopping this med. 1st call got disconnected after on hold 15 minutes. Next call had to leave voice mail. No one ever returned call. Finally called back at 4pm and made a issue with not returning calls about medications causing problems. 1st call no answer. 2nd call was on hold 15 minutes AGAIN!. Then the person could not give me a straight answer on stopping medication. Told me doctor said it is not recommended. I said but the med is making me have issues. Can I stop in full or wean myself off. Told me that is up to you. The entire experience with this facility was not very professional. Was actually kind of creepy and incompetent. The staff was not exactly friendly, nor compassionate. Everyone had a poor attitude. They appeared to not be very happy with their jobs. The facility was dated and did not appear clean and presentable. Would not ever recommend.
