Dr. Pingfeng Du, MD

I am Dr. Du's patient for about 2 years. Dr. Du is one of the gem rare physician that you can find in these days! he is a good listener and very caring. I am truly grateful for his exceptional care, professionalism, and genuine compassion.

Dr Du is a nice person he's big on the Defibrillator $$$$$$$ told my husband he would only live maybe 6-1 year to live. Don't ever listen to a person who says things like this. They don't know the time nor the hour of your death. My husband went to another Cardiologist it's been eight years he's a miracle patient at Scripps in La Jolla with a different Cardiologist and different meds!

Love Dr. Du. He is caring, kind and competent. He takes the time to talk to you and and treat the whole person. He has taken care of my parents and me and my sister. I couldn't recommend him more highly. Also his staff is great. Everyone gets back to you quickly. If you have to wait a little longer in the waiting room realize he is giving another patient the time and care they need and will do the same for you.

Dr Du may be a good doctor, but he's horrible at customer service. I booked an appointment 4 weeks out (that was the soonest they had), and the evening before the appointment his admin called to cancel because Dr Du had an emergency. I already took off work the next morning of the appt, so I lost some vacation time, but I understand people occasionally have life emergencies. However, then his admin REFUSED to prioritize my rebooking of the reschedule, so I booked another appointment 4 weeks out at 8am. I was frustrated by the lack of empathy and prioritization, but I heard Dr Du was a descent cardiologist so I was still excited to meet him. Finally my appointment came. I took off work that morning and went in at 8. I checked in at 7:50 and the admin in the office says at the end of checking in... "Dr. Du had another emergency and he can't come in this morning". At that point, I was upset. No notice, another morning of work wasted. So I left annoyed and waited to get an apology call from Dr Du... NOTHING. No call, no email, no message saying "sorry for the inconvenience let me prioritize your rescheduling", etc. I'll never be recommending this office to anyone. So unprofessional and disrespectful.

I was referred to Dr. Du for a stress test. I had to argue with the receptionist to just schedule this without a preliminary diagnosis since it was a referral. Two separate visits later, two different tests which involved sticking me with needles (still no treadmill stress test) and they sent me for an angiogram without telling me I had to have a heart rate 65 or less - apparently there is medicine for this. My rate was 70 so the angiogram place sent me away. I fired Dr. Du and his staff. They are either uncaring, incompetent, or some combination thereof. Find someone else!!
