Patient
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding my experience during my recent two-day stay at Banner WMC, with the exception of the emergency room services. During my stay on medical floor I acutely began experiencing intense 9/10 pain wretching and vomiting blood, it took 30 minutes for a nurse to respond to my room after I called for assistance four times and explicitly stated to a CNA's, "I seriously need help now, I feel like I'm going to die." The hospitalist then ordered oral Tramadol, which was entirely inappropriate given my active vomiting. While my floor RN, Megan, was excellent and provided what care she could, she was limited by the lack of physician orders. I did not see a hospitalist once during my entire stay. Furthermore, the night staff was consistently disruptive, banging around, yelling, and speaking loudly while simply taking vitals, showing no consideration for patients sharing a room. Slamming doors in the halls, talking loudly all night. I even attempted to close our door 3 times to which my RN would leave open each time she left. The overall lack of consideration, common sense, and compassion I experienced on the medical floor was unacceptable and has significantly increased my concern for the well-being of patients under their care. I do, however, want to commend the emergency room staff for their outstanding work. Dr. Washut and the entire ER team did a fantastic job, and I sincerely thank them for their help.
