I came in to see Dr. Runyan in January after struggling with tonsil stones for years after a bad case of strep - although there was no sign of them at my appointment he thankfully trusted my judgement to schedule a tonsilectomy that day. The pre op appointment was quick and to the point which was nice. I was never there for more than 20 minutes total. The whole time he had a way of being very friendly and informative while keeping office visits super quick + easy. His bed side manner was great on surgery day. Despite my anxiety I was confident I was in good hands. Day 2 post op was rough. I was so swollen I was struggling to breathe so they squeezed me in and offered a steroid shot which helped drastically. I wound up in the ER 4 days out throwing up from the pain meds (absoultely unbearable after this surgery. O m g!) The ER doctor wasn't much help so I would up back in Dr. Runyans office the next morning. They promptly squeezed me in again with no appointment and switched my meds which got me back on the road to recovery. He always explained my options very thoroughly and let me make the decisions which was great since we know our bodies best :) The secretaries and his nurse were all super friendly as well. My experience couldn't have been better.
