Patient
Where to begin. Dr. Hemsworth entered the exam room without a hello or a friendly smile. The first words out of his mouth on my first visit to discuss my heart health were, "So do you know why you're here?" Perhaps with such serious tone, a question better suited for a courtroom? It was uncaring and arrogant. With few words, he them drew a picture of a heart with its four chambers. I shared that I was there to discuss my high blood pressure that I was recently diagnosed with. When offering some background history, he hushed my words. It was clear to me that he had not wanted to take the time to get a firsthand historical account of what brought me in to see him. To make the visit productive, I had asked Dr. Hemsworth what test would be good to get a read of the condition of my heart? He said, "Well I can order you an echocardiogram." I guess I knew why I was there. Had I not asked for an objective test of my heart, I would have left with a crude drawing of a heart. There are great providers out, but this person is not one of them.
