My daughter was aging out of her current provider. Not thinking to ask them who they would refer us to, I contacted Theda to see about transfering. What a mistake. I called to set up an appt. Told the phone rep she wanted a female Dr and telehealth. Phone rep immediately got snarky. You get who we assign and everything is in person, no exceptions. I got snarky back and told her if thats the case we will go somewhere else. Rep then said she would take my info and her supervisor would call me. Two days later, supervisor calls, I explained what we were looking for and she said ok. I told her about the ordeal with the rep and she kinda blew it off. So, made an appt, being the first one, it was in person. My daughter was almost in tears when she came out. Dr told her she wasn't accepting anything in her records(mind you, these records go back years), she will need to redo everything she has already done, doesn't believe she needs the meds she is on. Basically lectured her and belittled her for an hour. Next day, we did what we should have done in the first place, asked her original provider who she recommended. She gave us a few places. One we chose was near our home and are wonderful people. So, if you are thinking about Theda, don't, they are not there to help you get better. they are there to take your money and your insurance money. Absolutely horrendous place.

i aged out of my old psychiatrist and made the horrendous mistake of choosing thedacare. on my first appointment to go over my medical history, the psychiatrist question and belittled me over whether or not my ADHD diagnosis was legit or not. asking me WHO tested me and WHEN and what that testing was like and the questioning went on for at least 5 minutes (which she had not done with any other diagnosis). she also questioned whether or not i NEED my vyvance and if my ADHD requires that medication and who was perscribing it to me. all in all it sounded like she didnt believe anything i had told her, but it came to a climax when i actually needed a refill on that medication. my prescription was denied and ignored, it is still not refilled after two weeks of trying to convince them i need it. i get that this place is a "drug free clinic" and Adderall/vyvance are controlled substances, but this is a diagnosis and substance ive been taking for YEARS. if you have ADHD do not go here, you'd have better luck getting your Adderall off the black market.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. When I first tried to get into this clinic, I called and was told, at least twice, that I would get a call back. No one called back. On the 3rd attempt, I was told that I needed a referral, which would have been helpful to know on the first call, since waiting to see my primary and then getting an appointment with behavioral health was expected to take quite some time. This delayed my ability to get my medications filled, which my primary refused to fill in the interim.
I had a poor experience with Taylor Lackey on my first visit - she was robotic, had no facial expressions, and displayed no compassion or empathy when gathering my history. On my 3rd visit, I did my check in online and was in the waiting room 5 minutes before my appointment time. Twenty minutes later, when I still hadn't been taken back to Taylor's office, I checked to see if there was a problem, and I was told that I hadn't checked in, and that I was late for my appointment, so Taylor would not see me. Other staff had seen me come ahead of my appointment, and I showed them my check in information, and was told that I must have made a mistake with my check-in, and was reminded, again, that I was late. One of the medical assistants was able to talk Taylor into seeing me (it was 20 minutes into a 60-min appointment, so I'm unsure why I could not be seen during the remaining 40 minutes allotted for my visit, particularly since it had been the clinic's error). Taylor was unsympathetic, and also told me that I had probably made a mistake with my check in. Of course, the visit did not go well, and at the end of the visit, Taylor offered that they had been having issues with the online check in process. I was astonished that they continued to say that I had made an error, even though there was a known issue.
I told the clinic staff that I did not feel comfortable with Taylor, and that I would like to see another provider. I was told that I had to have a conversation with Taylor about my dissatisfaction, and that she needed to "allow" me to see another provider - that I needed to try to smooth things out with her first. I told Taylor that I was unhappy with her service, and gave her specific supporting examples, and she just said she was "sorry that I felt that way", but claimed no ownership for the direction our relationship had taken.
I can see Taylor's office notes on My Thedacare, and they are not accurate, and contain Taylor's judgments, versus only her objective findings, along with my subjective report. These are notes that other providers will inevitably see, which will put me in a defensive position at some point.
Taylor also said that she was going to reevaluate one of my diagnoses, even though I had an official diagnosis, after rigorous testing, by a PhD-trained psychiatrist. I believe she just wanted to support taking me off of a medication that is a controlled substance, and which I have never, ever abused.
Needless to say, I will be seeking another behavioral health provider, and would even consider going out-of-network and paying entirely out of pocket. Particularly when it comes to mental health care, I expect more compassion and understanding than I have received thus far from the Thedacare providers. I am not sure my experience has ever been so poor.

I have been a ThedaCare Behavioral Health patient for about 4 years. Recently I was sent a letter that my psychiatrist was leaving ThedaCare. When I tried to set up an appointment with a new psychiatrist at Behavioral Health I was treated very rudely and I was told that I would have to wait for a long time to see a psychiatrist due to the fact that my case was discharged. I am currently without my needed psychiatric medications because I was told they would not be refilled until I scheduled an appointment. They will not let me schedule an appointment with a new psychiatrist, so I am at a loss for what to do. I have been a good patient, never missing any scheduled appointments. I have followed my prescribed regiment and now I am being denied care because my psychiatrist resigned. I can not get into to see my primary healthcare provider for almost a month and now have to go through an entire referral process all over again because instead of transferring my case to a new psychiatrist my case was simply discharged. I do not believe this is ethical and is poor treatment of your customers, especially when they need you the most. I do not believe I should be put back on a waiting list when I am a longstanding, established patient.
