When I was 20, UW found a minor thickening of my mitral valve. Dr. Wolff made me feel dumb for being concerned and like a hypochondriac. Skip to 12 years later when I have a severe thickening of that valve. The nurse said that Dr. Wolff wrote very rude comments in my chart and his negligence likely led to my issues. It's now 9 years since diagnosed by a different cardiologist - I had rheumatic fever as a child - and have stenosis. When caught early medications prevent scarring and surgeries. I've now had 3 procedures to allow blood to flow and am young enough that I'm likely to need open heart surgery down the road. I also can't have children because I could die. I'm also on 150mg of beta blocker for life. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Wolff to anyone. I have no recourse and he ruined my chances at having children and possibly my life.
