Courtney Balentine, MD, MPH, FACS, is a UW Health surgeon and an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Balentine diagnoses and treats patients with thyroid disease, adrenal gland problems and other endocrine disorders, which affect hormone-producing glands. Dr. Balentine treats goiter, including cancerous and noncancerous thyroid growths. He also treats hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), Graves' disease, abdominal hernias and other disorders. His specialties include caring for kidney transplant patients who develop hyperparathyroidism.
