Patient Reviews

Patient

The pulse volume recording (PVR) test performed at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center (Parkersburg) was conducted over jeans, rather than on bare skin. This method does not meet accepted vascular testing standards (IAC Standards 3.3B and 3.4B), which require proper technique and direct skin contact for accurate limb pressure and waveform measurement. Because of this, the left leg ABI dropped from 0.97 (May 2025) to 0.73, suggesting a new "moderate blockage" that is likely artifactual. The right leg (stented) remained normal, and no new symptoms are present. When the issue was raised later via phone call the technologist stated they "do this all the time over jeans" and became defensive. This response, combined with the non-standard test conditions, raises concerns about the technical validity and professionalism of the exam. The testing did not meet IAC standards.

Patient

I have PAD, and the way this hospital handled an ABI test was completely unprofessional. The staff did the test over a patients clothing, which is just lazy and unacceptable. This isn't how the test is supposed to be done, and it makes me question the quality of care here. PAD is a serious, life-threatening condition, and the lack of proper procedure shows a real disregard for patient health and professionalism.

Patient

They couldn't even get my Cardiac StressTest correct.. I'll not go back.

Patient

Long wait time just to get my testing. Techs don't seem to know how to even do their job. Just hurry hurry.
