I was hesitant about having any thing done about my diagnosis Dr.Rad talk and walk me through the process .I'm am comfortablely sure I made the right decision. I had Dr Rad to do a prostatectomy. The operation no problem no pain .It's being around 2 years since and I feel great just a little inconvenient. And his staff performed well. I would give Dr. Rad 6 stars

From the first visit my wife and I had with Dr. Rad, he was compassionate and took his time to explain my options, the surgical procedure, side effects, and expected recovery. The one thing I really appreciated the most, was how he included my wife into the conversation and was attentive to her questions and concerns. Obviously, I can't have my prostate removed again, but if I had to, I definitely would return to Dr. Rad. Great bedside manner and I'm recovering as expected!

I had surgery to remove a kidney, and Dr. Rad and his staff were very upfront in letting me know exactly know what was going to take place, and how it was going to be done. All of his assistants and nurses were more than willing to answer any questions we had, as well as Dr. Rad. The day of surgery, the entire staff that dealt with me were professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in explaining everything that they were going to do, and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. Everyone was very friendly and put us at ease, and my post op is going well less than a week out. My wife and I are very appreciative of the care I received.

Having surgery is a very stressful thing. I was fortunate enough to have the best surgical team I could have ever asked for. Dr. Shakira-Rad and his team was very professional and supported me through the whole process. I had the best possible outcome thanks to his expertise. It's great to know that we have such a high quality urologist right here in West Virginia.

Dissatisfied with treatment of a rising PSA at a major health network, I sought the care of Mon Health Urology. Dr. Battin recommended and performed a biopsy indicating that I had prostate cancer. He introduced me the same day he told me of the cancer to Dr. Shakuri-Rad after I indicated I would like to pursue surgical removal. Dr. Shakuri-Rad explained procedures and what to expect. Two days later after further review he called me and recommended that they best option due to previous surgeries would be a robotic single-portal surgery which was just now being introduced. I agreed and the surgery was arranged. Previously I had had an appendectomy, gall bladder removal, and the removal of a cancerous kidney. The open surgery appendectormy resulted in 3 days in the hospital and 2 days in the hospital a week later due to a post op infection. The open surgery inflamed gall bladder removal performed at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia resulted in 3 days in the hospital and a two week recovery at home. The laproscopic kidney removal ended with a 3 day hospital stay. On the day of my prostate removal I was taken to the operating room at 11:20 a.m.. After a 5 hour surgery I spent two hours in the recovery room and was at home resting before 8:00 p.m.. No post-op issues arose and after the first two days at home pain was very negligible. I could not have asked for an easier time for such an undertaking. During the entire process I felt that Dr. Shakuri-Rad and the team at Mon Health Urology were totally focused on my treatment and recovery. All the staff I encountered from my initial visit, biopsy, scans, and surgery were very professional, extremely competent, and very kind and reassuring to me and my family. I have never encountered nor could I ever envision better care than I received at Mon Health Urology. Subsequently Dr. Shakuri-Rad told me that my follow-on test results detected no cancer and no further treatment was needed.
