Seems to be an experienced neurosurgeon with a novel approach to treatment of AD, which now has new hope with the advent of new immunotherapies because by using focused ultrasound he has been able to temporarily expand the BBB, allowing better drug delivery to areas of the brain with dense beta amyloid plaques and patients are responding who were previously considered terminal. The first time I met Dr Rezai, he said to me, "You are going to get your life back," referring to the DBS surgery. Imagine what I felt, coming from the bondage of Parkinson's Disease, tremoring ALL of the time, both inside and out. These were the first positive words I had heard since being diagnosed with PD at age 40. Dr. Rezai and his team have exceeded my dreams, first at The Cleveland Clinic in 2005, followed by Ohio State University, and finally at West Virginia University, in my home state. My family and I trust Dr. Rezai implicitly, and appreciate his kind and caring expertise. After my DBS surgery, the tremors were completely gone. I could walk without assistance, play golf, enjoy life again! Dr. Rezai had truly given me my life back!
