Both of the female doctors act as if it is an inconvenience to see you. I switched from one to the other hoping for better interaction. The first one kept her hand on the door practically the whole time she was with me (which was less than 3 minutes) and the second one wasn't much better. I waited over a half hour past my appointment time, and she didn't really care whether she was there or not. At least that's the way she acted. If you need a good cardiologist and one who really listens and cares, stay away from the office at the Martinsburg WVU hospital. As the second Dr informed me, they have way too many patients. Go to Winchester!

Dr. Murphy is rude and has gone on and on about how she's the best doctor in her office and studied under someone important. She belittles you and makes a point she's the smartest person in the room. And today, I've already waited almost an hour past my appointment time. Hoping she will come soon because they won't tell me how long she will be and said I can't do it virtually over the phone and will have to reschedule. The wait time here has been 30min + for me in the past. Might be better to just have heart issues than to have to go here. Dr. Murphy also told me at my last appointment here she had a stomach virus but came in anyway and was taking zofran so she didn't have to leave the room to go use the bathroom. Super unprofessional.

I feel as they don't really care. They don't even spend much time in the room with you. I truly can't believe it takes 10-14 days back to get the results of an echocardiogram if you go to Winchester it's within 48 hours. That's pretty scary.

My 83 year old Mom has been a patient with one of the doctors here for a few years. He used to have an office in Shepherdstown and it was great and convenient for me to get her there. Then moved and either had to go to Martinsburg or Winchester to get seen. More difficult for her. Almost from the very first day in the Martinsburg office, there was a problem. Her doctor scheduled a procedure for her in the Cath lab, and this office never made the contact to them and she's waiting and waiting no one called her, she's premedicating already for the procedure and OH it was never scheduled. All that for nothing. Another appointment she had was cancelled without notifying her, until she called for a question oh it's cancelled. She finally did get the procedure done at the cath lab, there was an issue a week later and she had to be seen in the office. The PA Charlie (who was great) saw her and after a long appt, she said KEEP your October 21 appointment with the doctor and see how he wants you to proceed with your medication. SO yesterday, we go to the appointment (she was told to keep), only to walk in and hear...uh, your appointment was canceled BECAUSE "the doctor is not here". My Mom got very upset, started crying and I had just had enough with this office. Then they try to figure out why it was canceled, by the nurse. They stammer and stutter and try to tell her it was canceled BECAUSE she saw the PA two weeks prior. I was so angry I couldn't think straight and it took me five minutes after I left to realize, they just flat out lied....AGAIN...with no compassion or consideration for my Mom, who has been in distress with her health. Why are you trying to see why it was canceled when YOU ALREADY SAID THE DOCTOR ISN'T HERE. The incompetency in the office, from Day 1, is unexcusable. There is no accounatablily and no one EVER apologizes, ever. The lie is what got to me. When my daughter took her to one appointment, she and my Mom both told THE DOCTOR how his staff messed up. He told them they were mistaken, they stood their ground. He said the "notes" say patient changed her mind. My daughter spoke up to him and said that was incorrect. WHY would she change her mind?? He's a fine doctor, but the office in Martinsburg treated my elderly mother like she didn't matter with zero compassion and basically went into CYA mode. To get her to an appointment is a huge task for her, and they just waved it off and never said they were sorry or took blame. Tried to blame her. This office is the WORST office staff I have ever dealt with in my life. The doctor knows and allows it. My poor Mom feels rejected again. She will ask for her records and move on.
