My son was there at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA for emergency kidney surgery due to a stone that was to large to pass that had lodged itself in his ureter (the tube from kidney to bladder). This caused a full blockage preventing urine flow. Pressure to build needing immediate medical attention to drain urine and prevent kidney damage, even death. A kidney stone lodged in the ureter causes excruciating, wave-like pain, often described as one of the worst pains imaginable, similar to childbirth, due to ureteral spasms, pressure from urine backup in the kidney, and irritation in the narrow tube. This severe pain, typically felt in the back/side (flank) and radiating to the groin, comes in intense cycles (10-30 mins) and makes finding a comfortable position impossible. My daughter in-law and my son both struggle with addiction, like millions of other american familes. They are working on recovery, it's difficult and can take several attempts. I like to tell them, "Its not how many times you fall down, it's how many times you get back up that truly matter." My daughter in-law was in the car resting waiting news from the medical staff when she was caught illegal substance. My son was not under the influence and had committed no crime. He was in the hospital being prepped for emergency surgery. They made him get dressed and called the police, even though he was crying out in pain. When the police arrived they spoke with them and assessed the situation. Not only were the police in Walla Walla, WA compassionate, they understand they have a constitutional duty to get any detainee prompt medical help, which usually means taking them to a hospital or calling EMS, jails often won't accept someone with serious acute issues until medically cleared. My son had committed no crime. My daughter in-law has never been in any trouble and has no record. So, they left with no action taken. I' m thinking they are likely aware the hospital was on the wrong. If a hospital refuses emergency surgery to a patient with an emergency medical condition, and that refusal resulted in harm or death, the hospital would likely be held liable for violating federal law and potentially state medical malpractice laws regardless of the spouses action Especially since the patient committed no crime.

Have now had my induction cancelled 2 days in a row as I'm in the parking lot ready to walk in! This is my 2nd pregnancy and less then 1 year ago I had this same thing happen with my son, they kept canceling! And neither time was I notified of this, they claim my number doesn't work yet no one else has a problem contacting me at any time. Done with the excuses each time and told it'll happen the next day, for me to get ready, get my baby ready and dropped off and at the hospital by 6am just to have to leave again and be told to call back later and check and see what will happen then I plan phone tag just to get a answer. Ready to start taking all my care to Tri Cities!

My son was seen at the Providence ER on 6/5/25 and received amazing care. He has been ill for a few days and wasn't eating or drinking much and needed some fluids. The nurse who helped him was great. She was gentle and compassionate when caring for him. I wish I could remember her name! When he got his IV he said it didn't even hurt one bit. They also gave him a stuffed animal and even placed an "IV" on the dog to give him a buddy. They were quick, and so caring to my son when he wasn't feeling well.

I've delt with the e.r in the past..went in was diagnosed with the flu, a cold and walking phenomena, was waiting for my antibiotic prescription, nurse came up said 1 more test shoved a metal rod up my nose came back 20min later said I now had covid..my symptoms got 10x worst.. I personally believe that the rod was infected and spread to me,especially since a few hours before I just had the swab done, and it wasn't a metal rod and was already through all the blood work, chest xrays ect..I was waiting for antibiotics and my ride when she did that.. I can go on with, when my son was born and my daughter, and how literally as we were walking out the door to go to the hospital they have called to reschedule it, same excuses ,or when my mother in law went in for cancer surgery and the Dr messed up the port area for the colostomy bag, ive got my experiences in this place and see alot and have had friends and family go through here.. I will say my personal opinion is my personal opinion..but they're here and they try to do the job.. but lets be honest drs and hospitals are only there to prolong your illness and push experimental drugs on people, and push pills for there boss big pharma

The ER betrays trust and labels anything they don't understand as mental health. They then ship you off to other parts of the state, leaving you with records that affect employment, credibility, and your future. I hope eventually this place will close and a better hospital will open it's doors in our city.
