Dr. Raju Patel, DO

Dr. Raju Patel has been my cardiologist for many years (pre Covid) and I have appreciated his care and bedside manner. In recent years, it has been increasingly difficult to get appointments in his Tacoma clinic. Dr. Patel advised me to call in April to schedule my next visit in mid June only to find out his schedule was opened the previous month and now there are no longer any available appointments through JULY unless I go to Gig Harbor. I called back today and now his schedule has ZERO availability in ANY locations through September! They do not have a waitlist, so the scheduler recommended I call back every week to see if the October schedule has opened. What gives? His clinic was much more efficiently run when he was on Union Avenue. I miss the clinic staff that was there, too.

Dr Patel has been our cardiologist for several years. We have been very pleased with his care and with the customer service and friendliness of his staff! My only complaint is the number of stairs needed to climb to reach his office! But we hear he will be moving soon and we definitely will be following! Great cardiologist, friendly office!

He is good at helping you with your issue but the after care is lacking. Once my heart was back to normal I would come in for my yearly follow up and then every 2. Never had another echo done to see if my heart was getting damaged again. I had to ask him to do a stress test because I would pass out when my heart rate spiked. If I wasn't having any symptoms he didn't see a need to order any tests. The only time I've shown symptoms was when I stopped breathing and had to get chest compressions with hospital stays after. Needless to say unless you are currently showing symptoms it's a waste of your time and money.

I wish i could give zero stars. When I called originally and made the appointment they asked if i had insurance i explained my situation and that I had just switched providers. I told them I had insurance amd it was new so i was waiting for my card. I Take off work go to my appt. Get there amd the girl at the front desk was beyond rude . Which is even worst when you are somewhere like that because sleuthing is wrong with you then to have to deal with attitude from some miserable clerk. So they refused to see me even though I have insurance . I could literally potentially die. But because I domt have a peice of plastic they domt care. Really bad reflection on Dr. Patel that he runs his office like this. Beyond livid on how I was talked to amd treated!

Wonderful cardiologist! I'm an extremely complicated patient, having survived multiple surgeries including CABG, TMVR, TAVR, ablation, stent and pacemaker. He's the guy that actually listens to me, treats me with professional respect and has a great sense of humor. Don't let him go!
