This was my first cardio appt in years at age 70 & Dr. Penn was very patient & took his time reviewing my past tests, etc. in front of me, discussing all concerns he saw. He was very professional & his expertise showed by his ordering Cat Scans, Echo Cardio & new blood tests I was not familiar with. I felt very well taken care of!!

I was referred to this cardiologist as my blood pressure fluctuated a lot (has since returned to just about normal). I had never seen this doctor and had no studies other than EKGs, which were actually improving each year. The doctor walked in, had not yet examined me (including never having listened to my heart) and proclaimed, "You're in heart failure." Naturally I was shocked. He ordered an echocardiogram, and the results showed only a very mild problem - NOT heart failure. How this doctor felt he could diagnose heart failure without the testing or any kind of physical exam was a puzzle - especially since he was very wrong. And I spent several weeks waiting for the echo and its results worrying constantly - afraid that I could die at any time. And worrying needlessly. I felt his "diagnosis" was shockingly wrong on many levels - Doctors shouldn't tell a patient she is dying without even having listened to her heart and without the proper testing. Shocking arrogance. I walked out and never came back - and won't!! And I just got a call a few days ago (a year later) from that office advising me to get a second echo as altho the first showed a very minor problem, it "could" possibly get worse...I'll find another cardiologist, thank you!
