From 2017-2019 and 2023, Dr. Bayles assigned the wrong billing code so I would have to pay lab fees for annual check, which should have been free. I had to talk his staff to correct them. The same happened to my wife in 2024. I am wondering why the same mistakes happen so consistently. Please check your medical bill from him.

I WAS a patient of Dr. Bayles for 9+ years. Up until recently he was quite helpful in my medical care and I raved about him. That was until late 2023. I know it was not just Dr. Bayles but all the nursing staff in his office would who contributed to a very inappropriately handle medical appt. I had a serious work place injury in 2021. It was all dealt with through workmans comp/LNI for the most post. In late 2022 I made an appt with Dr. Bayles to catch him up on what's been happening and to let him know I was starting pain management. In Fall 2023 I had a surgery under LNI. It had some unusual complications. It triggered intense pain from my foot, up my leg and into my back. I had an ER visit, multiple doctors visit and my pain doctor all trying to figure out what was happening. My mental health tanked and I was suicidal. The pain was unrelenting and never stopped. I MyChart messaged Dr. Bayles keeping him informed of what was happening and hoping for some insight from him at my coming up appt. Days before my appt I checked in online. I was flagged because of suicidal ideation in the questionnaire. A nurse called me twice and MyChart messaged me to come in earlier. I told her I wanted to see him in a few days and that I was in horrible pain. The drive to my appt triggered the extreme back pain. The nurse checking me in had me fill out another form for my mental health which I noted I wanted to not wake up tomorrow (due to pain). I couldn't even sit up and my BP was high from the pain. Dr Bayles came in. He was not helpful like he had been in the past. He was interrupted once by a nurse and viewed another patients file in my appt. I asked for a neurology referral. I explained I've never had pain like this in my life and it was affecting my mental health. He then got defensive and argued with me that I had "5 doctors helping me" and refused any care. He left the room with me crying and told me "to take as much time as I need" to leave. No one addressed my suicidal thoughts. I managed to pull myself together and get some bloodwork down the hall. After labs I came back and confronted the front desk nurse. I asked why they do mental health screenings if they do address them. I then proceeded to have the worst panic attack of my life on the way home. I ended up in the ER again that night due to pain and the panic attack. I was DX with CRPS a week later and got my neurology referral from another doctor. When I made a complaint to Swedish it was barely addressed. I got one emailed stating they received my complaint and one phone message claiming it was being reviewed by a higher up. They have refused to respond to any of my messages for the last 2 months. Dr Bayles and his staff put my life in danger. If I didn't have access to a psychiatrist and pain doctor I probably would be dead. Swedish needs to address training of their clinic staff and treat mental health issues with respect and integrity.

I highly recommend him for the treatment of Diabetes. I am constantly amazed at how little information some Diabetes patients are getting from their Doctors, when I talk to them. He brings a lot of experience and expertise to the table. I am a Safety and Health Specialist and ex Fire Fighter, he is one of the best Doctors I have ever worked with. Perhaps the patient that did not like his bedside manner, should focus on following his instructions that are offered for his or her own good. I will bet his bedside manner will improve.

My family has been seeing Dr. Bayles for over 18 years now and we absolutely love him. We followed him from his former practice to Swedish and will continue to follow him. He is easy to talk to, listens and takes the time to hear what you have to say. He only encourages prescriptions when necessary. I never feel rushed, he always remembers us and asks how the rest are doing when they haven't been in for a while.

He has been my doctor for about 15 years and I place my complete faith and trust in him. I don't go to him to discuss politics, the Seahawks or the weather. I see him to make sure everything in my system is in good working order. If everything is fine I make an appointment for the following year. If anything is out of whack he either prescribes or refers. In other words, he does what a primary care physician is supposed to do. If I were to give him a grade it would be A+.
