Patient
On Sept 14th I was wheeled in the O Room for a stent procedure. I was put on the table by 2 male nurses. The nurse who transported very kind and personable. As I lay on the table I was given a pink pill. Within 10 min. I was throwing up the pill which was yellow coming back up. I have 3 broken ribs so I was in pain as the pill came back up. A towel was placed at my left shoulder to catch the regerhation. As I turned my head back I looked at the end of the table and a man in a lab coat was standing there watching me. My last thought was "this is creepy" then I was out. The next thing I know I am entering my ICU room with nursing team awaiting my arrival. I found out I was given Phentanal. I am allergic to all opioids! Did the Dr. who did the stent EVER come over to me, Introduce himself, explain the procedure, ask if I had any questions, fears anything NO. In this Dr Hira's arrogance must not have bothered to read my chart or he would have seen my ALLERGIES TO OPOOIDS. NO. This arrogant man made no attempt to have any communication with me at all. Nothing! Up until this moment each Dr. who came in to see me, introduced themselves explained why they were there, and made sure I understood what everything being done for me. I had a heart attack. Dr. Hira clearly thinks having any communication with his patient or read their chart is totally unnecessary. I will never forget the helpless feeling as this man is watching through up at the end of the table. Then the Anatheiologist must have put drfitibr
