PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cardiac Rehabilitation

My experience with Peace Health care after my heart attack was great. I felt very confident that the staff were knowledge and attentive. At no time did I feel uncared for at all. Simply a fantastic group of people that saved my life.

I had outpatient surgery and was highly impressed with the service at St. Joseph's. Nurses were caring and considerate and everyone highly professional. I feel we are blessed to have hospital care of this quality in Bellingham. My husband had a midnight run to the emergency room for a heart problem and his care was extraordinary as well. We found the staff courteous, professional and welcoming.

Many in this town are forward thinkers when it comes to child birth, which is great, but unfortunately it also leads many to poo-poo the child birth center at the hospital. Those folks are wildly mislead. My wife and I endured a 44 hour labor, 18 of it at the hospital. We were determined and prepared to have a natural birth and the staff at the Peace Health child birth center accommodated in every possible way. As we worked through early labor to active labor to transition, our nurse Karen was hands off, allowing us our privacy while checking in and providing care and monitoring in the most non-intrusive way. Here shift ended, sadly -for her and us- when transition began, but the new nurse Norma provided herself as a dula, giving me breaks from counter pressure and showing my wife new positions that helped her get through this intense period. The active birth was the most beautiful experience of my life, and the hospital played no small part in it. The next 32 hours of observation were equally accommodating, as they protected our privacy, yet allowed our friends and family to visit when we requested -even at 2am they night our daughter was born, when we craved pizza! I love this place -and I'm using the term love as the kind of love that is deep in your heart. All of my children will be born here. They are the perfect compliment to your home during a natural birth.

Although the staff were nice enough and we were able to see the doctor in a timely manner, the ER waiting room as well as the rooms are filthy. When the double doors opened you could see dust bunnies flying all over the floor. There were stains on the walls, the carpet in the nurses offices were utterly disgusting. I don't think those floors had been vacuumed since Moses parted the Red Sea. Now don't get me wrong, no one was rude, judgemental or discourteous but it's tough to feel comfortable in an ER that is that filthy. You can't help but worry about catching something worse than the reason you are there in the first place. Happy with the staff and Doctors but just disturbed by lack of cleanliness in the ER overall, particularly the bed areas and nursing stations and offices.

I was in the ER last night with my elderly mother. Dr. Bigelow was very kind was able to answer all my questions even though he was obviously very busy. The nursing staff checked on her frequently to see if we needed anything. Everyone was very efficient. She was eventually admitted and so far today I have been very impressed with her care. Thank you!
