In my 33 years of living in valley health territory. I have experienced a marked decline in the humanity of treatment by the multiple hospitals I've been into as a patient and a contractor. Its extremely concerning to me that given a recent dilemma between services at a valley health facility and a Veterans Administration facility. I would deffer my treatment indefinitely. I would rather die in the privacy of my own home than be railroaded by corporate policy. When hospital administrators are telling Docters how to treat us and nurses have no autonomy to help there is no hope but a corporate collapse. Can we please break up the monopoly Valley health so there is room for disagreement?

The staff is wonderful overall. Wait times for an emergency can be very long. It is heavily scented and if I closed my eyes I would think I was at Bath and Body. It definitely doesn't seem clean due to the smell. Fragrance is used to mask odors that can't be cleaned. Definitely would not return. The staff may be competent but so many health issues are aggravated by fragrance like asthma and migraines it is hard to believe they have air fresheners attached to the wall everywhere. Hospitals should smell sterile and like antiseptics.

This place basically saved my life in 2019 when a uti was out of control and I had no appetite and could barely drink. The ER doctor and nurses were amazing but the doctor that over saw my care while admitted was a little rude but still IM convinced God set me here to people that actually cared and wanted to help.

Dear Valley Health, I am writing to express my deep frustration with the lack of accessibility and clear information regarding blood donation at your facilities. I recently moved to the Winchester area over a year ago and have always been a committed blood donor, typically donating every 90 days. Previously, I donated with INOVA, which offers flexible options and convenient locations for donations. Unfortunately, my experience with Valley Health has been extremely disappointing in comparison. For starters, your website lacks clear and detailed information about where and when blood donations can be made. In contrast, organizations like INOVA provide multiple centers and allow donations at most hospitals at any time. Due to this lack of clarity, I initially resorted to using the Red Cross. However, they do not host many drives in this area, making it equally inconvenient. Today, I visited your medical complex off Route 50, expecting to donate blood, only to be turned away. I was shocked and confused by this, especially considering the high demand for blood in hospitals. With several labs on-site and hundreds of nurses employed there, it is hard to understand why blood donations cannot be accommodated during normal business hours. As an O+ donor, which is considered one of the most needed blood types, I expected a more welcoming response. After being turned away by four different buildings, I was told that Valley Health only accepts blood donations twice a month, on specific Wednesdays. This is not only highly restrictive but also impractical for those of us who work during the week. It is deeply frustrating to think I may need to travel an hour back to an INOVA center just to donate blood to another community when I am trying to give back to the one I now live in. I urge Valley Health to review its policies on blood donation and provide more accessible options to donors. At a time when blood supply is critically needed, it seems counterproductive to make the process so difficult for those who are willing and able to donate. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and hope to see changes that make blood donation more accessible in our community.
