Dangerously Incompetent Intake Process - Proceed with Caution. The intake staff at Carilion Clinic are dangerously incompetent, putting patients at risk through negligent disorganization, poor communication, and delays in critical care. Medical Errors: My records were repeatedly lost or misfiled, leading to incorrect information being relayed to providers. Lack of Urgency: Despite urgent needs, intake failed to prioritize cases appropriately, causing unacceptable delays. Unprofessionalism: Staff were dismissive, uninformed, and unwilling to escalate issues when concerns were raised.

I am shocked by the negative reviews. I see Dr. Young and his team and have had excellent treatment for years. I see the same receptionists and office staff as everyone else and never encountered impoliteness. I hope the folks who are unhappy do follow up with a patient advocate so their concerns can be addressed.

The roots of inequality run deep. I feel them strangling me every morning as I wake up in tremendous pain--a condition left untreated in an inequitable and indifferent system. I see it in the eyes of every nurse and doctor I encounter. Their gaze screams, "I need to get him out of here; I have too much on my plate."Here, I will never receive the care a medical professional should provide: time, dignity, respect, and compassion. Here, I am given only the bare minimum of the staff's time, energy, and patience. As someone with a degree in healthcare administration, I understand the systemic failures we all suffer from--whether it's the decades-long doctor shortage, the ever-present affordability crisis, or the untenable, immoral burden of medical debt. These issues manifest in rushed visits that prioritize the cheapest, easiest solutions--rarely what's best for the patient. Carilion Clinic stands at the forefront of this injustice, failing to deliver even the most basic care to its patients.

Been going here all my life and never have an issue! It's a great staff with great providers. I work in healthcare so I understand the turnover on providers but haven't had any bad experiences with the current providers. Dr. Dunbar, Hollie Cappo, NP and Margaret at the front desk are all amazing!!
