Sentara

I went there did the hearing test, it took almost a month to hear back from them and when I did they really didn't offer any explanation as to what was going on only thing they did was try to set an appointment for another visit without letting me know what they would be doing at the visit.

I love Sentara it has always been my number hospital especially the staff and the cardiac unit is out of this world!!

My Mom was admitted to the ICU heart hospital, there was no empathy from some of the Employees, the nursing staff, and the security guards (2) of them. We'd been here for a week stay in the family waiting room when a security guard came to pull his rank and advised we couldn't sleep in the waiting room because the staff comes in and sanitized the waiting room which to my last statement and never sanitized, we were the ones cleaning the area. We've been here a week and now we're advised we couldn't sleep in the waiting room and we should be sitting up. Dirty hospital and rude staff!!! Worst hospital ever!!

Nurses and other staff are great. They seem to be taking care of my 88 year old mother very well. Ordering the necessary tests, etc. Cafeteria is clean and also offered Chick Fil A in the back (limited menu). Patient rooms are clean and trash gets picked up,etc. Also the staff who takes her down for various tests and brings her back seem very caring and friendly.

Had a short stay. Staff and service was good. Food was good just need to make sure food is given at appropriate time. My only issue was the miscommunication between hospital patient coordinator team(which it was not there fault) and the Aero Care oxygen company located. In Chesapeake Va. Who was to deliver oxygen to hospital and home. Pretty much waited all day. No oxygen but was told by the Aero Care that my oxygen was delivered to my home and someone need to bring it to me from home to hospital. Long story short Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a very good hospital. If I had to choose I would choose SNGH to receive care from.
