1. Doctors are great but cleanliness is not. Floor in my husband's room was sticky, it's like they didn't even wet mop the room before putting him in there. All they do in so far as daily housekeeping with regard to the floor is dry mop, which is just dusting the floor. I wiped up a few crumbs and the paper towel was black with crud. 2. Bedding does not get changed unless you ask for it to be done. You can be there for a month with the same bedding unless you ask for it to be changed. The nurse told me it's personal preference? 3. The elevators don't look like they are ever wiped down. I never see people cleaning in public areas beyond emptying trash. Now maybe they do it at night but in his previous hospital you'd regularly see staff cleaning during the day. 4. It's hard to get your loved one a real shower. They just want to use sticky wet wipes as opposed to taking the time to give a real shower. They often just drop off the wipes, bear on mind he has an IV and cannot reach his back. I get that they are likely short staffed and nurses overwhelmed but when a shower is the doctors and patients preference it should be respected.
