About Dr. KidMed Pediatric Urgent Care - Southside (Midlothian)
KidMed Urgent Care is Richmond and Stafford's only urgent care just for kids! We treat kids ages newborn to 25 with illnesses or injuries. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Walk-ins welcome or book ahead online on our website.
KidMed's pediatric board-certified physicians and pediatric-trained team provide medical care for conditions many would go to the emergency room for, including broken bones and stitches, at a fraction of the cost and with less waiting time. Voted "Top Docs" in Richmond Magazine and Top Workplace by our staff.
Locations in Short Pump, Midlothian, Mechanicsville, and Stafford, each with on-site x-ray, casting, and lab testing. We take most insurance plans. KidMed is designated an Autism Friendly Community.

Arrived 40 minutes before they closed with my daughter being a brand new patient and each of the staff members I spoke with upon entering were incredibly kind to me, informative and maintained the same attitude most would have as if they were just opening. The nurse we had was extremely nice and very attentive to my daughter and myself. The doctor was confident, knowledgeable and thoroughly explained everything in great detail to me. 10/10 will recommend this facility to any & everyone I know. (I wish I would've remembered the names of the specific staff members but with my experience, I believe they are all the best)

My child fell ill at daycare twice, and once during a visit to KidMed. The staff promptly assisted and cleaned up the area for me. They also provided a vomit bag for my child and placed us in a separate room outside the lobby. Their care and efficiency were truly appreciated. Additionally, they gave my son a new shirt because he had gotten sick on his. Despite my child's illness, I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with all the staff.

A great place to take your child when they are sick or hurt. The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. The nurse was sweet and patient- the nose and throat swabs were so gentle and easy. The doctor was comforting and informative. They made the visit for my young daughter with croup fun. They answered all our questions and took the time to listen to us- never felt rushed. Not that we want to have to go back because a sick or hurt kid is never fun, but when something comes up where we need an urgent care- we're coming here.
