Patient
Staff was friendly enough. I saw Dr. Phillips after getting out of the hospital for an ascending Aortic dissection. This is life threatening and I felt his approach to my continued medical care was non chalant. He acted like I will be just fine and can go back to roofing work with little delay. The reality is that after my corrective surgery (which has a 53% fatality rate on the operating table) there is a 56% chance I die within 5 years and a 78% chance I die within ten years. My new dr said I cant even exercise or my Aorta could literally tear in half and I bleed out internally in under a min. That means I cant do ANY physical work. Due to this I needed to apply for food stamps in order to survive. They wanted something from my doctor stating why I couldnt work since Im not currenty labled as disabled...that is coming. All I needed was a written note from him which he refused to provide. I called and asked 3 times and he never even responded to me. In the hospital I was diagnosed with heart disease and coronary disease which he never even really talked with me about. He just kept saying hopefully we can correct it with surgery. Excuse me...diseases arent correctable with surgery. Once aquired you have them for life and no amount of surgery can correct it. He is there for a paycheck and is out of touch with society. He needs to retire. I was denied food that I can no longer provide for myself because he could not spare 5 mins of his precious time to write down that if my bp goes over 180 i most likely die....not a Dr I ever want to have. My new Dr understood and had no issues writing something for me and after re-applying Im approved but if left up to Dr. Phillips I would have been screwed. Thanks for nothing Phillips...RETIRE !
