Dr. Tran was my cardiologist Dr. when the surgeon (a separate Dr.) wanted to put stents into my heart. Dr. Tran supported me in not having the stents inserted, continuing 40 mg of statin per day and a rigorous plant based diet with no added sugar, salt or oil. After 3.5 months, my cholesterol levels dropped considerably from an LDL of 119 and having both stable and unstable anginea to an LDL of just 47. When the 47 LDL result came in, Dr. Tran immediately supported me in dropping the statin levels from 40 to 20 mg/day. I feel a debt of gratitude to Dr. Tran in providing excellent care when I was at my lowest.

PLEASE READ: It has taken me a very long time to leave this review because it simply was too painful to do. But since Dr Tran's reckless decision keeps slapping my family hard, I decided to warn other people in our situation. About 2 years ago my husband had a heart attack and was treated with 2 stents. After this procedure, Henry Tran became his cardiologist and put my husband on the highest dose of different meds, including Statins. The side effect of Statins are very well known and after 3 months I asked my husband to talk to Dr. Tran to lower the dose because it was just too damaging to his body. Dr. Tran advised strongly against it! 6 more months passed, I pushed again and the request was again strongly advised against by Dr. Tran. I actually attended this online meeting myself and remember he mocking me for asking such an idiotic question and ignored me completely for the rest of the meeting. His suggestion was LIFETIME use of 80 mg Statin per day for a man in his 40 s. And this is when I begged my husband to get a second opinion and God how I hate myself for not doing that earlier! The second cardiologist was SHOCKED! and so was the third one. Both confirmed that after 2 stents, one month of high dose statin will heal everything and the dose SHOULD have been lowered because it will just do more damage than good. Right now he is on 5 mg /day and his mood, his tiredness and his energy levels are MUCH improved. The cholesterol level is absolutely under control. So PLEASE be careful and be your own advocate and do your OWN research and always always always seek second, third or even fourth opinion. Henry Tran is a very careless Dr and does not believe in personalized treatments because people are simply guinea pigs to him to test his theories on.
