Blue Ridge Cardiovascular Associates / Zia Roshandel, M.D., F.A.C.C.

I've been taking my father here since we moved to Culpeper 3 years ago. We have never had an issue until they have recently employed their Nurse Practitioner, the last two encounters after he was released from the hospital have been less than courteous. Our first encounter she had the gull to tell my father and I that we had no idea what we were talking about and that his symptoms were not important, although they were a concern when he was in the hospital and they can back after being discharged. She kept going to the fact he was fat and needed to lose weight which he had and was fixated on that. Second encounter I wasn't there, he was informed by his GP that the cardiologist needed release him for eye surgery due to them managing his cardio health, makes sense. The NP yelled at my father saying no she wouldn't and also that he was going to go into certain failures, which isn't what his other specialist said. She had the audacity to yell and lecture him when she looks the same as him, overweight. My father was so upset his elderly with a bad heart he left the room fuming and when got home his bp was off the charts and he was stuttering, that isn't how a medical professional should ever treat ANY PATIENT! if you go here only see Dr. Roshandel, no one else!!!!! Unless you want to be belittled, yelled at, and disrespected as well as dismissed.

Dr. Roshandel and his staff are amazing. No one wants to go to the doctor about their heart. It's a scary thing. EVERY person in this office is professional, personable, and kind. Dr. Roshandel is meticulous in his explanations and always takes as much time with his patients as needed. He isn't one of those doctors that talks at you. He talks with you and makes sure his patients have a clear understanding before they leave his office. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Roshandel and his staff are top notch and you are in great hands in there office. From the moment I walked in his staff went above and beyond to make sure that I understood everything that was being done. Just when I didn't think things could get better, they did. Dr. Roshandel is extremely knowledgeable and took his time evaluating me. Dr. Roshandel is one of a kind and I am so happy I found him. He explained what was happening to me and why breaking it down and making it very easy yo understand. While there I needed some imaging done by the Vascular Tech, Mr. Blair and his bedside manner was impeccable. I don't often write reviews but I have never been to a private practice where everyone has it together. I went in this morning nervous that I wouldn't be taken seriously, I couldn't have been more wrong. If you are having cardiac issues you should really try to get on his schedule you won't regret it.

Zia Roshandel, M.D. is a fine Dr. I ended up in ICU and he was my assigned cardiologist. He released me with a prescheduled appointment in 6 weeks. I was given 4 weeks of medication. When it was time to refill I and pharmacy called. Never spoke to a human just voice-mail. The nurse ignored my calls all week, because I hadn't been seen in office. No call to explain. Then acted as though it was my fault. Heart issues are important and his nurse should have been more proactive. Out of desperation I called my PCP who got the medication though I missed a few days of medication. The stressful situation was completely avoidable with one return call. Her voice-mail said she checked calls throughout the day...she just doesn't call you back.

I can honestly say that I have never written a Google review, but felt compelled to do so to describe my wonderful experience at Blue Ridge Cardiovascular Associates. From the moment I entered the office, to when I checked out, every step of the way was stellar! When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the receptionists and the Medical Assistant that roomed me was polite, professional and very personable, but my most positive experience was with Dr. Roshandel! Since I was in need of a cardiologist for the first time in my life, I wasn't sure who I should trust with my care. I was referred to Dr. Roshandel by my primary care physician and he was also recommended by my neighbor, who had nothing but positive things to say about him and his medical expertise. I was told that up until a couple of years ago, he had been the only cardiologist in Culpeper County and that he, literally, took care of every cardiac patient in the county. My neighbor said that Dr. Roshandel has a wonderful, caring reputation and that I would be in good hands...and he was so right! Dr. Roshandel took the time to listen to me, make an initial assessment of my condition and had ordered a few needed studies to be performed right in his office. (By the way, his study technicians are just as caring as the rest of his staff!) I never felt rushed when Dr. Roshandel met with me. When I went in to see him for my follow-up visit after the studies, he thoroughly explained everything to me in a manner in which I could understand without talking down to me...he even drew pictures of the heart to further explain what my issue is! Thanks to Dr. Roshandel, I am now on medication and am feeling much better, but especially, I have the peace of mind knowing that I have him taking care of me! I would recommend Dr. Roshandel, unequivocally, to anyone who is need of a wonderful cardiologist!
