My Family is in deep gratitude for Dr. Hunter he saved my life. I have only have remembered his assistant, Kristy and to me she is my hero. I know while a was in the ICU she was my families go to. The care I received at St Marks was outstanding.
St. Marks is a beautiful hospital. The doctors and staff are all very capable and helpful as well as friendly. The location is easily accessible and the ground crew keeps The outside looking very nice. They help me get in quickly and made my visit each time pleasant. I look forward to my surgery and my follow up visits. My TAVR procedure went as planned. I arrived at 5:45am. I was escorted to a prep room and then to a surgery suite. The surgery took less than one hour. I never experienced any pain. After the mandatory 4 hours of laying flat on my back, I was allowed to walk with the assistance of my daughter. I was released the next day after a nurse verified I was able to walk up and down a short flight of stairs and around the halls of the hospital. I was given a referral to my PT near my hone in Kaysville. After 5 days I was walking and running slowly for 30-45 minutes. After 3 weeks I am running at a slow pace 2-5 miles daily and/or working with my physical therapist. My chest X-ray looks good and I am scheduled for an ECHO in a week at St. Marks hospital. Thanks to my primary doctor and all my doctors and nurses at St. Marks.
Everyone there are always so nice, yet professional. I never feel like I am being pushed through like cattle. Which has happened with other doctors. They all listen to me, which is very refreshing.
I cannot say enough good about these people. Their professional staff and obvious genuine care, has undoubtedly extended my life. I highly recommend this outstanding group of medical professionals.
My TAVR procedure and follow up are completed for a year. I can't say enough good things about the way I was treated by the medical team at St Marks as well as the care I received afterward. The procedure was successful due to their skill. Utah Cardiology was on their game in teaming with St Marks Heart Center.
