Utah Valley Clinic - Vascular Surgery

Because of where I am medically, I have a hard time trusting doctors and their staff. So when I feel like I'm being put off and lied to, it further solidifies my mistrust. I don't know what was put on my notes, but the conversation I had with the one of the staff last week and the one I had with the PA in my follow-up were 2 very different conversations. I will not be coming back to your office, but I feel someone should know why.

I will be looking for a new clinic after the experience I have had over the past two weeks. The receptionist was extremely rude when I requested an appointment to be seen for blood clots. She told me that because I already had an appointment 6 months from now, that I would not be able to seen sooner and that I should check back with my primary care and that they would be able to help me as well as her office could. I tried several attempts over a 2 week period. When I asked if I could talk to a nurse, she said that they didn't just have nurses who answered phone calls for anyone. I asked her to still ask them to call me and I did not receive a call. I booked with another provider and have decided not to return. After thinking it through and what was best for my care, I decided that I did not want to have this much trouble again. I don't think she should be giving medical advice. It is sad because I had a few appointments with the providers in the office a few years ago and found them very good. But if the only medical advice you get is through the receptionist, I don't recommend going here.

My experience at the IHC Vein Center was great!! The staff was professional and skilled. They provided assistance and answered all my concerns. I felt I was in the best possible place for my vein issues.

I have never had such a great experience with a doctor like I had with Dr. Smilanich!! So informative, he researched my labs results throughly and gave me a personal overview of my health issues and suggested what I needed to keep my health on track! I was so impressed by the care and concern and his overall understanding of my health! I would suggest him over and over again to my family and friends!! Thank you Dr. Smilanich for putting my mind at ease!!!
