John W. Zamarra, M.D., FACC

I have been Dr. Zamarras patient since 2009, for 10 years. He is the best cardiologist and holistic doctor. He is extremely thorough, and he truly cares about his patients. An old school doctor who takes his time with you, doesn't hurry to get in as many patients as possible. He truly cared about you. I have referred numerous people to Dr. Zamarra, who have also been extremely happy as well. Lori runs the front desk and does an amazing job. We absolutely love her! She is always in a hurry, because of the doctors hectic schedule. Lori is very personable, accommodating and friendly. Lori and Dr. Zamarra became like family to my husband and I. I am very surprised by some of the negative comments I read here. Never in 10 years did I or my husband have a bad experience with Dr. Zamarra or Lori. Every person I referred also had nothing but positive experiences. We all were extremely heartbroken when Dr. Zamarra closed his office last year. He worked for Caudecus in Yorba Linda for a very short time, before retiring. We wish Dr. Zamarra and Lori nothing but the best in whatever the future holds for each of them.

I am totally agreed with the 2 comments about how rude & unprofessional his receptionist (Lori) was. My husband was Zamara's patient for about 10 years. He referred his mom and his sisters to Zamara's office, after a few years they all quit seeing Zamara because of incompetent Lori. My husband got in a bad car accident & air lifted in a trauma center, I called Zamara's office to get his medical records for the hospital, after putting me on a long hold Lori said she'd call me back with the current prescriptions that Zamara prescribed my husband... I told her I was willing to hold the phone while she checked on his record. She insisted to call me back but she never did. I called her again on the next day she did not apologize at all, she said she's very busy so just call her back if I did not hear from her. She sounded like it's my fault for not calling her back.... Not to mentioned that at least 2 times that my husband's appointments had been canceled without informing him. When he got to Zamara's office all he heard from Lori was "Dr was in the hospital and could not come in today" She did not bother to call him before he came. In my opinion: I don't blame Lori but Zamara. He knew how his employee's performance, he heard many patients complaints but he did not care. My husband switched to the new Cardiologist for about a year and a half now. His charge was cheaper and service was way better than Zamara. My husband is happy but I am happier because I see him being treated with care and respect.

Doctor Zamarra is an awesome, extremely knowledgeable and very caring Cardiologist. I will provide you with all the facts as well as my own observations later in this review. Doctor Zamarra works very hard to provide the best care for his patients. Doctor Zamarra sees patients at St Jude Hospital, Placentia Linda Hospital, and several recovery facilities. I am personally interested in a Doctor that treats me with respect. I want a Doctor that is listening to me, answering all my questions and spending all the time needed with me to gather all the pertinent information. And last, the most critical criteria for my Doctor is a timely and accurate diagnosis. If a doctor messes this up, you are screwed to a point that you could even die. My father was missed diagnosed back in 1992 by another doctor. I watched my father die of colon cancer because of a bad diagnosis. I have no love for doctor's because of this and other poor doctor's diagnosis examples. Doctor Zamarra is a different type of Doctor. Doctor Zamarra wants to know all your symptoms and treats you according. Doctor Zamarra's gift/talent is to provide an accurate diagnosis, provide immediate treatment and then follow through to make sure the patient has a successful recovery. Doctor Zamarra is amazing at this. Of course, Doctor Zamarra is a specialist. Doctor Zamarra is an excellent cardiologist, but the Doctor practices a "wholistic approach" so the Doctor checks out the whole body and treats according. My husband and I were married in 1998 and my husband had his own doctor of 20 years so he was not interested in changing to another doctor. In 1998, my husband had very painful red spots on his sides. His doctor told my husband he just had a rash and prescribed a basis cream for this supposedly rash. After 2 weeks with my husband showing absolutely no improvement and still in pain, I convinced my husband to see Doctor Zamarra. Doctor Zamarra's immediate diagnosis was my husband had hives. Doctor Zamarra gave the correct treatment. My husband recovered with no more issues. My husband won't go to any other doctor than Doctor Zamarra. I have a many examples of this type of action from Doctor Zamarra. He saved my husband's life by determining the need for heart surgery. Doctor Zamarra personally called the Surgeon to expedite the process. My husband had the operation within 2 days. My husband is doing great. My last comments are about my parents. Both have passed on now. Doctor Zamarra is so compassionate especially in difficult times with serious illnesses. Doctor Zamarra made house visits to my parents home 20 years ago to treat my Dad so my Mom would be with my Dad till the end. In 2004 when my Mom was sick, Doctor went to treat my Mom at the 4 different facilities she was moved to till my Mom passed away. My sister, my brother, my brother, my husband and I are all patients of Doctor Zamarra. We all agree that Doctor Zamarra is the Best in the business!!!!

Dr. Zamarra is not only a super Cardiologist, but because of the way he puts me at ease, I have him doubling as my Therapist! Five years of Dr. Zamarra makes prior frequent visits to the ER by me seem like a decade ago. Yeh!

My family has been seeing Dr. Zamarra for about 14 years. He is a like a true small doctor with a big heart. He also is very intelligent and patient!
