I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rutland and the team at Christus. Everyone was fantastic and they put my wife's mind at ease when she was more concerned than the guy getting the operation! While a heart procedure wasn't on my to-do list decades before being AARP eligible, I'm certain I would not have had a better experience anywhere else. A huge thank you to Dr. Rutland and everyone else up there from the lady at the front desk to all the nurses and other supporting staff. Thank you all.

Dr. Rutland was recommended to me by a different doctor. I have had heart issues for the last three years and Dr. Rutland has told me more about my condition and things that he wants to do to correct my condition than any other doctor in the past three years. If you can get to see him, I believe it is the best move that you can make if you want to have a chance for survival.

Dr Rutland is extremely knowledgeable, listens intently, takes time to answer all questions, reviews information on patient prior and has great bedside manner - all around great doctor!

Dr. Rutland is an incredible care provider. He gives information in an easy-to-understand way, drawing pictures to explain as he moves through the information. He was part of a team giving care for multiple issues; he very carefully included the other aspects of care in his recommendations. He showed us an expensive and invasive surgical procedure that had initially been considered by the team would likely be better served with a non-surgical approach. His recommendation was based on likely outcome of each so we could make a decision driven by well-being and recovery, not by time or cost elements. He gave us take-home information with more details, along with an offer to answer any more questions we might have. He quickly earned our total confidence in his factual and realistic approach to finding the right balance in elder care. We would strongly recommend him to you and your family, especially elders who are sometimes treated with a bias of ageism.
