A native of Katy, Texas, Dr Aertker is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where he studied Biomedical Sciences, graduating summa cum laude. At Texas A&M, he received the Thomas Gathright Outstanding Academic Scholar Award. Dr Aertker then earned his medical degree at the University of Texas at Houston ' McGovern Medical School and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. After completing his internal medicine residency training at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, Dr Aertker returned to Texas to train at The Texas Heart Institute in general and interventional cardiology. He was elected chief cardiology fellow during his tenure there.

I recently saw Dr. Aertker for the first time. I had previous cardiologists and they either retired or left Houston for other reasons. The reviews for Dr. Aertker were outstanding. Since we moved to a different part of Houston and his office was close to our new home, I decided to go and see him. It was the right decision. He asked me many questions and was very PATIENT, CARING and KIND. Also, he is a tremendous communicator. To summarize, Dr. Aertker and his staff are EXCELLENT!
Everyone of the staff that I encountered were very polite and helpful. From the front desk, procedure room, to my discharge all seemed to love working with others.
Dr. Aerker is a Godsend. He has operated on my husband's heart two separate occasions with great success. I trust him again and again. He listens and answers every question we have until we understand completely. His entire team is OUTSTANDING!
