Dr. Mark M. Mettauer

My experience with Dr. Mark Mettauer was unacceptable. He is an arrogant, rude, and inhumane doctor who shows a complete lack of professionalism and ethical standards. Instead of treating patients with respect and compassion, he behaves with indifference and hostility. His disregard for basic patient care is alarming, and his attitude is both unprofessional and unethical. I strongly advise anyone seeking medical attention to avoid him.

Absolutely the best surgeon we could have asked for, my husband had to have triple bypass and of course it was successful, and praying with us before, we'll let's just say Amen.

Dr. Mettauer is an exceptional surgeon. He did a fantastic job on my husband's double bypass surgery. We were so glad that he was the one that did the surgery. No pain and the scars were amazing, such a beautiful job. I am so impressed and thankful for saving him! I appreciated that he took time to explain and say a prayer to make us comfortable. And after the surgery took the time to answer any and all questions from the family.

Dr. Mettauer is an excellent surgeon and a very kind man. He replaced my defective aortic valve in September of 2018. His excellent skills and superb care helped me to recover quickly with very little pain. Approaching heart surgery can be scary and worrisome. Dr. Mettauer puts all that worry to ease and takes the scary out of the equation. Very easy to talk to and explains everything thoroughly,. I highly recommend him. His prayer with me and my family before surgery was special and very comforting. His assistant, Shannon, took such good care of me before, during and after my surgery. She is the very best at what she does. Made herself available for anything I needed no matter how small. These two are the "Dream Team of Heart Surgery!" If you have to have heart surgery, I suggest you sign on with this Dream Team.

This doctor is just plain awesome! When we discussed my husbands surgery, he was calm, listened and answered all of our questions, and put us at ease in a very stressful situation. On the day of surgery he came in to check on us then proceeded to do a 5 hour quadruple bypass on John. The entire time a surgical nurse kept me updated via phone. After surgery he came by for a quick chat before he was off to do another surgery. Dr. Mettauer did an amazing job. He came by every day to check on him. One of the best things about his practice is that his nurse, Shannon, is available anytime to answer last minute questions or solve any problem. Instead of the patient coming in to get their stitches out and tape removed Shannon comes to your house! It's great to have someone willing to come to your home to do the checkup then walk through your house to help you solve any problems you are having! If you have to have heart or vascular surgery I can't imagine using anyone but Dr. Mettauer! One last thing- he looks like a tall surfer dude, but don't let his looks deceive you, he's from right here in Texas!
