Dr. Matter is a magnificent Surgeon. When you find out that you need heart surgery, many things run through your mind. You pray of course but you also research to make sure that you choose the right Doctor. I chose right when I chose Dr. Matter. I wanted someone who was data driven. I wanted someone who kept up with current studies and research. And I wanted someone who could explain things to me in "human" terms. That was Dr. Matter. Pre- surgery, he comforted me, making me feel confident. Post surgery, he was proactive with my care and understood that recovering at home is better than hospital, when possible. I only spent 3 nights in ICU and because I was doing well, was sent home to recover on day 4. We texted daily and he always responded quickly to any question that I had. And was there for any phone call. I could not be happier with my care and I feel blessed that I chose Dr. Matter as my surgeon.

I was sent to TMC from Sherman hospital ER as I was having a heart attack. I got there sometime afternoon on Thursday May 1st. Dr Matter came to my room about 11:30 pm to meet and talk with me. I must say from my 1st mtg/introduction with him I was totally impressed. I knew I was in for a triple bypass surgery. And yes I was a little nervous about the whole thing, as my father and brother both went thru the same thing years ago. Upon meeting Dr Matter all the anxiety etc. disappeared as his manner and approach was just very reassuring, he also spoke to my son who was on the speaker phone. His straight forward approach was quite comforting. The surgery was scheduled for noon on Friday, I think I was pretty much out till about 8:30 that evening. I was totally surprised when I woke up, (to a most beautiful caring nurse Julie V. Who I think spent her whole shift next to me) Hardly any pain and very little discomfort. I have described the whole ordeal to my friends as a cake walk. I was discharged 2 days later and as I just mentioned it was soo much easier than I could have ever imagined. Thank you sooo much Dr Matter!!! I might add that I was totally impressed with the Texoma Medical Center and its nurses, I almost hated to leave. I might add I think of Dr Matter as more than just a Dr but more as a friend after all of this. I highly recommend he and the facility to anyone facing a similar situation!!!

Dr.Matter performed a triple by pass on my husband in 2018 and was amazing! Thank you Dr. Matter and your team. Not only did you perform this operation but helped us as a family get through a difficult time. The patient name is Rickey Braswell and you also did his mother's heart surgery, so now as a family we thank you from the bottom of our healthy hearts! I had the experience of meeting Dr Matters when I had to have a triple bypass. This Dr was a GOD send to take care of me. He is very efficient, personable and loves what he does to help people. I highly recommend him if you ever find yourself in need of a cardiologist

I was wondering where Dr Matter was these days and wanted to find a way to thank him for the surgery he performed on me back in1999 the day before Y-2K. I am doing fantastic and can't thank him enough for the successful ASD and valve repair surgeries he did on me. I'm still with the same clinic and see them once a year. I've had a new lease on life for the last 25 years all because of him. He promised that he had a backup generator and thankfully he didn't have to use it. God bless you and thanks !!!
