I was very sad to read the two reviews posted about Sonterra Cardiovascular Institute. As a patient of Dr. Dhir's, I only have praise for her and the clinic. I had High Blood Pressure that could not be controlled and after one visit no more issues. Because my Father had his first heart attack at 48 years of age, I go back for yearly exams. My life is worth taking the time and money to do that. My 85 year old Mother has had extremely High Blood Pressure most of her life. Again in one visit it was no longer an issue. She is a heart healthy 91 year old today. Lastly, my husband was quickly diagnosed by Dr Dhir and Dr. Aurora of having a blockage in a major artery of his heart. They did a catheterization the very same day and he is now advising his patients to be more aware of heart warnings and recommends they see a cardiologist if needed. By the way, we live in North Carolina and fly back to San Antonio to see these very caring and knowledgeable Dr's. And no my husband is not a Physician, he is a Physicians Assistant and we work hard for our money. If you are worried about your heart, you need to meet these talented Dr's. I am glad we live in a country where we are allowed to express our feeling honestly. I hope the other two people that left reviews find the right cardiologist for them.

Great caring doctors with the best staff. My primary Dr recommended them and I am so pleased he did. I see Dr Arora and he has kept me heart healthy for years now. I sent my son to a different Dr and they told me there was nothing wrong with my son even though he had chest pains and other concerns. Dr Arora checked him out and found otherwise. Now my son is healthy. I have sent several friends to them and they all love the Dr's and staff.

I have nothing but praise for my Doctor Arora. I took my sister to her appt with Dr Arora and when he walked in he saw my sister and saw me. But when he saw me he was sure I was the patient and told me in no uncertain terms, "You are sick and you are not going to make it if we do not see you immediately" But I explained to him that I was not the patient it was my sister he was going to see. He looked at my sister and stated he would take care of her but she looked fine and I was the one he was concerned about. He explained to me that my face showed I was very sick and my legs were very red and swollen. That I must take care of myself immediately. Either with him or another Cardologist. So, needless to say I made an appointment next day and took the same tests as my sister. Well, the results were not good. He stated my sister was okay she just needed some medications and she is doing much better! Myself in the other hand had my legs veins clogged and needed a medical procedure done as soon as possible because I was not having good blood flow into my leggs or into my Heart. Also, my Heart valves were closing because they were not receiving enough blood flow, He prescribed some High Blood pressure pills and also, sent me to a Wound Doctor to get my leggs wrapped to try and get more blood flow to my Heart. Dr.Arora saved my life and I will always be grateful because most Doctors dont take the time with you unless you made an appt and showed them your Insurance Cared which I had done neither because I was not the patient. Thank You Dr. Arora for giving me my life back.

Dr Arora is super thorough and will insure he looks at everything with multiple tests. Don't take chances with your heart and vascular system. He took me off the RX's that my primary Dr put me on and used different Rx's and I've notice a massive improvement in the way I feel, my memory (some statins have bad side-effects for me and he knew that immediately) and in my vital signs. I only wish my mother and brother, who both live in a different state, could have come to see Dr Arora and I'm sure they would have been treated correctly before my mother suffered a mini-stroke and my brother suffered a heart attack.

First, my background is in healthcare- nursing home and hospitals - doing inspections and quality. Second, the review. My doctor in this practice is Dr Meeney Dhir. Her decision to become a cardiologist did the discipline of internal medicine a disservice. She treats the whole patient. If you have a cough, if your hand is sore, she is going to investigate. Yes they do a full cardiac workup. Yes it takes a long time. Yes they follow medicare rules on billing. My friend's husband went to another cardiologist who only did part of a workup. Within a month he required 3 stents in part because his physician didn't do the entire series. My entire family dies of heart disease- I'm thrilled she is so detail oriented. Dr Dhir would like the workup more often- i simply say no!
