St. David's Cardiovascular Imaging Center - Round Rock

The people here are friendly. It's convenient in round Rock. My wife called to get better location and the person told her it's near the hospital. This area is littered with medical offices and the map and location is terrible. Nothing on the building says that the imaging is in this building. I will include an easy way to find this. The heart hospital is what it says on the front. The entry door to this location is next to the emergency for the main hospital. If you turn into the main hospital on the east side where the emergency center is located drive just past the emergency entrance you will see heart hospital of Austin st David's round rock. The address above the door says 2250 this is your office. I will include some pictures as well. You can see in one of my photos the hospital ER is next door the building is connected to the hospital. Great people, on time, needs SERIOUS Wayfinding Improvement! My appointment for two diagnostic imaging exams was fast, efficient, easy to pre-register for online, and everyone I encountered was cheerful and pleasant. The facility is clean and comfortable, has fairly adequate parking and appointments were easy to make. BUT...In the 2 1/2 hours I was there, I noticed however almost every person who came to the check-in counter ( at the CVIC, Cardio-Vascular Imaging Center, located near Park Valley Drive, not anywhere near Round Rock Ave) was either lost (including a nurse) in the wrong building, or wondering why directions to the location were so difficult. Virtually every address in this campus of at least two dozen separate medical office buildings and a hospital (or two) returns the same address "2400 Round Rock Ave" when searched online, as we all do before traveling. As we all navigate by GPS navigation, this is spectacularly unhelpful. Additionally, it appears that every single building is labeled as St David's Medical Center or Heart Hospital Round Rock or both--nothing more descriptive on buildings themselves or signs pointing to them. Entrance signs and directional signs on the grounds are also universally unhelpful and sparse on detail. The "Tower Entrance" ON Park Valley Drive, the closest entrance to the CVIC also says "2400 Round Rock Avenue", despite being 1/4 mile North. (see photo) This is an extremely confusing campus to navigate without a paper map which someone has printed as in the olden days, and circled or highlighted the building you need to visit. Wayfinding/Navigational Signage is a well-defined, widely practiced and mature art, and this hospital needs an artist.

I went this morning for an MRI And Stephanie, the girl who performed my MRI was awesome!! She talked me through the whole experience, which was scary at first. She kept me calm, and the whole procedure was a success. Veronica at the front desk for radiology was super helpful as well taking the time to burn a CD of my images for my doctor. The whole staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend each one of them on staff.

This is a long overdue review, as my procedure here was done over a year ago. I had a stress echo test done here (don't worry, all is good). I do have to say, this is one of the least fun things I've ever done, but that's not their fault. In addition to the unpleasantness of the test, I have to abstain from coffee for about 30 hours before getting there. Needless to say, I was in deep caffeine withdrawals by that point. I griped about this on the way in. I know it wasn't their fault, but my head hurt. When the procedure was completed, it turns out one of the technicians had brought me a cup of coffee, that I was able to drink immediately. It was a small thing, but did a lot to make a tough situation better. I wish I remembered the guy's name. I definitely owe him.

Scheduled appointment a month ago. They called me a night prior to inform that they didn't get an authorization from my insurance. A NIGHT PRIOR OF EARLY MORNING APPOINTMENT. Did you try to get one? Did you try to inform me? Somehow they managed to bombard me with automatic reminders on the phone AND email Still, failed to inform about an issue in a reasonable time.
