Matthew Dickson, MD

Probably one of the worst medical experiences I have had in a while. My mother and I visited Dr. Dickson a few months ago because she was previously hospitalized (2 times within 2 weeks) for what we believed to be TIA episodes. My mother was extremely scared, and we were just happy to be referred to a cardiologist after terrible experiences with the emergency room. When we finally made it to our appointment, the first words out of Dr. Dicksons mouth were "I have a procedure at the hospital, so this will have to be quick". Firstly, this is absolutely deplorable bedside manner, and absolutely no way to greet patients that may be emotionally and/or mentally fragile. If you had a procedure, why accept our appointment? If the procedure was emergent, why not let us know and reschedule so we can have your undivided attention for a medical matter that is extremely scary? The rest of the appointment consisted of Dr. Dickson overlooking my mothers concerns and giving her no real advice/ diagnoses. He seemed to just be rushing us along so he could get to his procedure. In short, he couldn't care less about the health of my mother. My mother is also a health care professional, and is extremely proficient at discussing her health experience, so the fact that he dismissed all of her concerns was very concerning. She left the appointment in tears and this definitely contributed to her negative mental state in the weeks following. Luckily, we were able to find cardiologists that were willing to listen to her and provide a course of action. If you are a patient of color looking for a cardiologist in the Dallas area, I would highly recommend that you DO NOT see this provider. As a medical doctor, it is your responsibility to make patients feel better. You did the completely opposite of that for my mother. Very hurtful. I hope you can learn from this experience and be more careful about the words you use/ your attitude when practicing medicine.

Dr. Dickson is amazing. My husband's hypertension was controlled immediately under his care. It's never ever been controlled. He is so precise and focused. He told me to stop taking his blood pressure every day. So I did. He tested him thoroughly to find the root cause of a stroke. I've never seen this level of expertise in a physician or practice. The people that work in his office are so hard working and highly responsive to all of our questions.

Before I went to dr Dickson I had already been to a few other cardiologist. None of them made me feel as comfortable as Dr Dickson does. He also breaks everything down to where I can understand what he's telling me. You will not find a better cardiologist! He's simply the best

Finally a doctor that genuinely seems to care! After doing some research, I brought my grandmother into Dr. Dickson's office due to some issues that she has been having. She had been having some bad luck with other doctors not seeming to want to take the time to actually get down to the root cause(s) of her issues but Dr. Dickson made her feel as if he was truly concerned with her symptoms and is determined to find the root cause so that he can properly treat her conditions. He was very thorough and made sure to make her feel confident in his plan of action. Overall, the doctor was very companionate and the medical staff was also very knowledgeable and endearing. Very happy to have found Dr. Dickson and his team!

Dr. Dickson is the Best Doctor. He cares about his patients. He is very calm and easy going. Also, the nurse and the check out receptionist deserves a pay raise. They were both excellent. Dr. Dickson needs two pay raises. Staff continue to give a 100% on your jobs.
