Avoid this place like the plague!!! If you have to go to the ER this is NOT the place! You will wait for hours just to get to the back to wait HOURS AGAIN!!! Without anyone checking on you. There is no one at the nurses station and they are not even in the rooms with a patient! People are yelling "hello" from their rooms and there is no one attending! How is this acceptable???? I've been in my room for 2 hours at this point and waited 3 hours in the ER. The PA did an initial check up of me and another lady came by and verified my insurance. Since then I have just been sitting in this cold room without any update and I came in for an ear infection. Maybe it's not serious enough for them to be bothered with me in a timely fashion. So I came outside my room to see if anyone can help me and I've been in this hallway for 30 minutes and have yet to see anyone that works here. It is a ghost town except for patients waiting.

Upon my arrival in the ED being met by Dr Tobias ( triage Dr )with a clear strong diagnosis. Being admitted with ease and patience from the ED Staff; transition onto the Cardiac Care Floor(3rd floor) being met by Dr Mateen ( hospitalist MD ) At this point; the education given and treatment were efficient and understood. Coming into the hospital is already kinda stressful and frightening. My day shift RN ( Ken ) made sure to communicate to me throughly the meds and each step / order he was given. The way his shift ended and he gave a beautiful report to ( Edwin ) my night shift ( RN ) was beautifully unflawed. He knew right up to the minute and moment of exchange what I needed and what the next steps will be. No confusion and or misunderstanding from these two Nurses. Very professional and Very Compassionate. The education from Dietary was impeccable. From knowing when I was NPO and when I can have food intake was amazing. Calling down for food and receiving hot and cold dishes in rapid timeframes were delivered upon precision. Ultrasound, Cath Lab Teams were amazing. Anesthesia Team & Paige made me feel so comfortable and confident in being put to sleep. The delicate way Dr Nhan Nguyen ( cardiologist) explained and educated not only me but my family every step of the way was more than I and them could ask for. The bedside manner given from him and everyone surrounding him was impeccable. Let's NOT forget Florida and Michael in ( PACU ) Recovery were amazing. When I say my heart is for ever grateful and beating with gratitude from the entire staff I'm beyond blessed to have this hospital and them for my new found look on life

I arrived by ambulance after a really terrifying adverse reaction to a medication given to me at another facility. I was given another EKG immediately. The triage nurse was pleasant; he was solidly down-to-earth and genuine. The x-ray techs who came to do the chest x-ray were also quite lovely. The PA, April Jaynes, exceeded my expectations. She listened. She asked questions. She allowed me to feel as though I was a collaborator in my care. When I asked a question she didn't have the answer to, she was honest, and said she didn't know but that she would look it up and let me know. She did find the answer and she prioritized relaying the answer. That is commendable. It allowed me to feel secure when I really needed that sense of security. The only thing I wish had gone differently: I believe I was discharged too soon. I had to go back to the ER the next day. I am grateful that the provider named what I experienced as an adverse drug reaction; however, I believe it went beyond a run of the mill reaction and warranted further observation. Symptoms persisted and when they did begin to abate, some alarming symptoms (my guess is secondary to the original strain on my body from the acute stress response) emerged (fever, muscle rigidity, decreased kidney function, etc). Even if that were not the case, I was still disoriented and unable to walk when I was discharged so didn't feel super stable (but compared to the state the previous hospital discharged me in this is sort of inconsequential). I was told by the nurse they needed the bed. I understand that, I do, but freeing up a bed shouldn't be at the expense of patient care that follows the recommended course of treatment for their presenting concern. Even still, were I ever back in that part of DFW and in need of medical care, I'd be perfectly okay with receiving that care at Methodist Richardson.

Arrived at ER at 6 pm with chest pain and upper left shoulder pain, massive headache and high blood pressure. Immediately triaged with EKG but since it was a meat locker, he became agitated because I couldn't stop shaking/shivering. Then finally placed in a room. No one ever asked my medical history, medications etc.(which is mild but still important). Nurse no name arrived to start IV and draw labs. An hour later comes back with syringe full of Protonix, no explanation until I said 'what's this for'? Then chest X-ray tech arrives, again no explanation of why. Then another 30-45 minutes later nurse returns with 2 large syringes full of morphine and Zofran! I'm like "whoa what for!" "The doctor wants to give you this for your chest pain and headache "...After demanding more explanation my husband convinced me to take it. That was an awful experience! I literally rarely use Advil! 5 minutes after the morphine, radiology comes in to take me to get a CT scan of my chest...still no explanation as to why! Returned from CT, nurse comes in to reconnect telemetry and BP, 188/94 now, but pain has subsided from 10-3 after morphine. Now it's approaching 11:00 pm, still no doctor and 'nurse no name' (who for the past hour was sitting at her station, mask donned, while doom scrolling her phone and coughing her head off in between chatting with another nurse) suddenly leaves with her backpack. 30 minutes later, I go to the bathroom to see that the rooms, hallway and nurses station are all empty! Ghost town! And that's when I got pissed! I removed all of my wires and stood in my doorway until a random nurse walks by and I told her I needed my IV removed. She seemed surprised and said "nobody came to discharge you?"! At this point I exploded and stated I had been there almost 6 hours with no doctor and no explanation about what's wrong! She removed my IV and then Dr. Happy pants walks in and acts surprised about me demanding to go home! He apologetically begs me to let him prescribe stuff I don't need like Valium or other drugs and finally agrees to prescribe 1 drug, protonix, which is for reflux because my heart is fine and that's the only thing they can surmise is wrong ! I will not fill the Rx and I definitely will not return to Richardson Methodist for anything! The CT guys were awesome and gave me warm blankets! P.S. I don't write reviews but this deserves one!

My hospital of choice. Service in emergency was quick, thorough and doctor left no stone unturned to make sure when discharged all areas of my condition were treated or I had referrals/plan. He communicated with my oncologist to ensure medications were on point. I don't have enough to say about this hospital and now I am getting all my treatments there because after that experience and dealing with other hospitals this one went above and beyond. Thank you Methodist Richardson Medical Center!!!!
