Iglesias Medical Clinic

I am writing this review to express my sincere gratitude to PA-C Carlos Ian Vela and his entire staff that are located at the Dr. Norma Iglesias Clinic in Pharr. I suffer from extreme Anxiety and OCD especially when I visit the doctor. As a result, I always feel really nervous and anxious when waiting to be seen by the doctor. However, when I'm seen by PA-C Carlos Ian Vela his compassion, positive attitude, knowledge, and friendly chat, always helps me feel a lot more at ease and confident in my medical visit. Furthermore, he always takes the time out of his busy schedule to help me with anything that I need that is health care related and it truly means a lot to me. In addition, his staff is always so warm, professional, and caring. For example, they welcomed me with a smile and were really understanding with all my concerns. I was so anxious about my appointment, but soon felt calmer due to their friendly attitude. Thank you so much for the excellent care and treatment I always receive in your clinic. I truly value your patience, help, professionalism, support, and hard work.

Repeated Errors and Unprofessional Staff This clinic has been a frustrating experience from start to finish. My labs were mishandled multiple times, forcing me to return for repeated blood draws due to staff errors. I was told I could pick up my results without a consultation, only to be told later I had to pay again--despite clear instructions from the physician. To make matters worse, no staff member will provide their full name or contact information. They refuse to share how to reach the main doctor, Dr. Iglesias, even when the staff's own mistakes are the reason for concerns. Based on other reviews, I'm not alone. It's unacceptable for a clinic--whose job is to care for people--to operate with this level of miscommunication and lack of professionalism. Patients deserve better.

The times I called, the office never answers. This is still early hours. I try different times and nothing. Where is the manager? This employees need training to know how to answer by the first ring, or at most by the second. And if they are busy let the person know they are busy and place on hold. That way patients calling don't feel ignored.

This place is excellent. The staff is very professional. I have read reviews on this place, and the people who write bad reviews are all the ones who get rejected for medicine refills or wait time. Some of you get rejected for medicine refills because you don't need them anymore; when the doctor says no refills, it's for a reason not for you to take medicine just because. I have seen people scream at the staff and threaten them over refills or wait time. These are people, not machines, they have feelings, and they try to help people, but some people act so pathetically and aggressive. The wait time is decent. You will wait regardless of whatever office you go to. Dr. Vela is one of the best doctors I have seen, and he truly cares for his patients' well-being and health all around. Don't take reviews from places unless you have been there and spoken to the doctors and staff and provide enough evidence to say it's a horrible place. Don't write a bad review just over wait times or because you can't get medicine refills after finishing your prescription; it's ridiculous.

Good drs that give great care, the only problem is the front receptionist which is rude at times and has an attitude. She's also short on her answers and isn't helpful when provided with a problem.
