Vijaya Pokala, MD

Dr. Pokala's office is deeply concerning. While some staff are friendly, Alex, the stress lab tech, demonstrates a dangerous disregard for patient safety and protocol. During my mother's procedure, translating services were offered--but Alex refused to allow me or anyone else capable to translate, despite my medical knowledge and familiarity with cardiac procedures. He ignored her medical history and explicit physician orders, dismissed her concerns, and treated her with blatant rudeness. She had to exit the room just to get a translator, and even then, he insisted his judgment superseded established medical guidance. Another staff member excused this behavior by saying, "That's how he is," confirming this isn't a one-time lapse--it's routine. Patient safety, compliance, and respect are non-negotiable. Alex's behavior is negligent, arrogant, and entirely unacceptable. If Dr. Pokala allows his team to reflect gross behavior toward patients, in good conscience I cannot see any reason to recommend this office to anyone.

There's more to being a doctor than knowledge & experience; there's respect, kindness, patient relations & in these areas he fails completely. There's no need to have to wait for hours for your appointment when he has a staff as large as he does. I've been to doctors with less staff & was treated better & faster. Also, some of his staff needs major attitude adjustments. Especially the one who calls the patients; I don't know if she's his wife or what, but she is rude, pushy & won't accept simple answers. Also he has a bad habit of talking down to you or treating you like you have no sense. It would be no stars, but you have to rate at least one to post.

Dr POKALA is awesome and my nurse is amazing . But the guy giving the stress test was not very friendly to me this time . I got a vibe with him . Yes I agree on wait, but you better not be late some have attitude. But the doctor is marvelous i believe he is truly concern about your overall health.

Dr. Pokala is one of the most caring and genuine doctors I have ever encountered. Sometimes his waiting room does get backed up only because he will always attend to an emergency first. I have been on both sides of the spectrum. If you are the one needing the emergency attention, he will be glad you have him!

If you schedule an appointment at this place make sure the rest of your day is free. Had an appointment at 8:50 am go through their check in and moved to the other side to wait for the doctor, who hadn't arrived to the facility yet. Every single chair filled up and not taking any patients back who are all waiting for the doctor. They kept trying to bring more in to wait and there's literally no more chairs. One lady said she had been there since 8:00 am before and did not leave until 5:00 pm. They should not be scheduling so many appointments so close together. I was taken back to be seen by the dr at 10:45. The Doctor and the staff who ran test are nice. They are very thorough. It is quality medical care, but the scheduling definitely needs to be re-worked people shouldn't have to wait that long.
