About Dr. John Hollowell, MD
Dr Hollowell is a board-certified specialist focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. He received both his undergraduate and medical degree from Louisiana State University. He served his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at The Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles and his fellowship in cardiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr Hollowell is active in the medical community as a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the Texas Medical Association and the Collin County Medical Association.

Dr Hollowell has been my Cardiologist for the past couple of years. He is a top notch professional who listens and does not rush you out of his office. He also offers some great advice. He told me on an office visit a year ago that I needed to lose some weight, which was the best thing that could have happened. My blood pressure is now well controlled and I am hoping to reduce the amount of medication needed to maintain that control. Sometimes you just need to hear the truth from someone else.

I went to see this doctor the other day and he was really rude to me. He also told me that if I didn't listen to him I would die. I was only there to establish a baseline because I have family history of heart disease, which were all diagnosed prior to being my age. He was just rude. Bad bedside manner, apparently he missed those classes in med school.

Awful and unprofessional. Scheduling issue had me schedule an unnecessary appointment. Upon going into room for what I thought was a calcium exam the rude nurses assistant proceeded to drill me for information. I am 60 and been to several doctors. She asked what medication I am taking. Told her none. She asked another question and I commented that I was talking vitamins. She rudely said "that is medicine". Well you are the first in 40 years that stated vitamins was medication. She was awful and could go on and on. Gave me an unnecessary EKG after I told her that I had an EKG in May. Doctor showed up and I was still confused as I explained to the nurse that I was there for a calcium scan. I was in the middle of a text when he walked in and he stated "are you going to look at me". I immediately responded aggressively and should have walked out. I told him his rude nurse was confused and I was only there for a damn calcium scan. Luckily the receptionist was able to get the scan scheduled in the same complex. Just awful experience.

My husband has gone to him a lot and everytime he comes home he tells me how rude this doctor is. He said he wont listen to him a nd feels as though the doctor doesn't have time for him. This last time I told him not go back. Example of rudeness..he didn't want to take the medicine the doctor suggested and the doctor said "well I guess you want to die" That is not professional at all. This doctor thinks he's God of all doctors.
