Jenkins Leigh Ann MD

Worst doctor I have ever met. She is very condescending and rude. I just went in for test results and venous insufficiency. When I would try to give an answer to her questiions, she would contradict me, try to belittle me, and said no, no. She wanted me to give details of everything that was wrong plus the test details. (That's why I went in) plus the results were right in front of her. She also muttered insulting remarks. She may be under pressure, have mental illness, or JUST PLAIN MEAN. I walked out of her office I was so upset. I may report her. I certainly would not recommend her.

In my 40 year career, I have known and worked with scores of cardiologists nationally. Dr. Jenkins combines superb clinical expertise/wisdom/judgment with compassion and empathy unlike any I have ever encountered. She has trained dozens of cardiologists in her model. She is an absolute treasure for West Texas.

I am sharing this to raise serious concerns about the care my loved one received. A close family member underwent a cardiac catheterization performed by this physician and experienced severe pain and distress, reporting that anesthesia and pain management were not provided. Even more troubling, several licensed medical professionals were reportedly present during the procedure and did not intervene or advocate for the patient, despite clear signs of pain and repeated cries for help--apparently out of fear of retaliation from the supervising physician. This description of events reflects a deeply concerning breakdown in patient advocacy, ethical responsibility, and clinical compassion. No patient should endure such suffering while surrounded by healthcare professionals sworn to protect their wellbeing. I am calling for a thorough investigation by the facility and oversight agencies to ensure accountability and safeguard future patients from similar harm.

Dr. Jenkins is a phenomenal physician. I was extremely nervous about anything related to my heart, but she calmed my fears. She educated me about the condition I had. She contacted me while she was out-of-town to inform me of some abnormal test results, knowing I was overly concerned. She promptly put me through a round of diagnostic tests and procedures that ultimately showed I was in great shape and had little to worry about. She is funny, talkative, but honest. She's a straight-shooter, which I like. Plus, she's a professor at the Health Science Center, so she really knows her stuff. I will definitely be recommending Dr. Jenkins to all my friends and family for any cardiac care!
