Aliakbar Arvandi, MD

I highly recommend Dr Arvandi and his staff. He friendly thorough, knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions I had concerning my condition. I had an ER visit and he looked over all my results and caught something the ER doctor failed to mention. So I was very appreciative of Dr Arvandi for mentioning what he saw on my CT so I could get a referral to a pulmonologist. I'm extremely happy with my care and have referred other people to Dr. Arvandi.

The VA sent me to Dr. Arvandi specifically to get a stress test and cardiac clearance for knee replacement. I met with Dr. Arvandi on 7/9 and found it difficult to communicate with him. I clearly told him that I was in the Army for 4 years and I only smoked for those 4 years that I was in the Army. However, in his summary write-up Dr. Arvandi says that I smoked for "almost 40 years." And also that I did not want to do the stress test! How could he misunderstand? He also wanted me to get an echo cardiogram. Once I got approval from the VA, I had both tests on 8/26. The test results should have promptly been sent to the VA, but he did not send them even after I asked him to do so during my 10/8 appointment. VA Patient Advocate Belinda King had to call on 10/10 and insist that those test results be sent to her. Dr. Arvandi's irresponsibility set me back 2 months in getting my operation scheduled. Also, he says he does not provide cardiac clearance, which the VA had contracted for.

Dr. Arvandi was very professional and informative. He was humourous and answered all my questions, thoroughly. I'm very happy with my initial encounter with him. I feel like I'll be taken care of. The front desk staff weren't very cheery, but the scheduler ( it was his first day) and his trainer were extra friendly and helpful. I think that new guy deserves a raise because he sure did know what he was doing with scheduling 4 appts for me in about 10 minutes. So. I'm very satisfied.

Dr. Arvada and the Nurse Practitioner and Robert are the best ! They care a lot for me and I enjoy coming to the TTUHSC for my medical issues. There was another assistant a young man, he was very kind! Everything went well!!

Dr Arvandi and staff members at UMC attended to my concerns with care and professionalism while making me comfortable and stress free
