There was poor communication among the staff, patient, and family, leaving us feeling lost. One doctor indicated that my mom had bile duct stones and needed an ERCP. However, the GI doctor claimed it was just debris that would likely be expelled naturally, stating only 10% of cases required surgery. He implied the procedure wasn't necessary, so my mom was sent home. At discharge, her blood work was already concerning, with orange/brown urine and pain. The next day, I attempted to contact the doctor, but the phone number led to an office where he didn't practice. When I called the hospital, I learned they had no record of him being affiliated there. After my mom underwent follow-up blood work ordered by Dr. Chaudhury, her urine remained brown, and she appeared weak, tired, and confused. We received a call urging us to return to the ER due to alarming blood test results. She arrived around 12:30 PM, and she was jaundiced. After waiting an hour in triage, she sat in the lobby. I noticed a scheduled ultrasound in the app for 3:55 PM, with an arrival time of 3:25 PM. When I called the ER to check if my mom needed to go elsewhere for the procedure, I was told she was already in the back and the procedure was underway, which was not true, as she was still in the lobby. Finally, at 4:50 PM, they took her to the back for the ultrasound. She received an ER room around 6:15 PM and a regular room at 7:30 PM. I informed the nurse that my mom had taken tramadol from home to prevent overdose, but the nurse dismissed the timing as unimportant. At that point, the procedure was still not scheduled. A doctor informed us she would have the ERCP the next day but couldn't specify when. Later, I called the charge nurse before bed, and the procedure was still unscheduled. When I called in the morning at 8:30 AM, I was told the same, but the nurse assured me she would call if anything changed. Then, at 9:59 AM, my mom texted me that they came to get her for the procedure and that she had a horrible headache. Thankfully, Mom refused to have the procedure until we arrived, so I was able to see her before she went in. The staff was not happy with her. When we saw her, she was flushed, with red cheeks, and a mark under her right eye. She didn't know why it was there. She also mentioned that her knee was bothering her, and when we looked, there was a huge knot on it. I can only conclude that she had a fall we were not informed about, but I haven't had the opportunity to ask, as she is currently undergoing the procedure as I write this.

When I was moved up stairs to the cardiac floor, my first nurse was absolutely awful, her name was Tamara. I asked for my pain meds that were in my file, it was time for them and she said I couldn't have them, because she didn't think my pain was bad enough, even though I was almost in tears from the pain. Then, I told her I can't turn my wrist all the way over, and when she was flushing my IV, she forced my wrist over to the point where it popped, and when I told her it hurt, she completely ignored me and told me to stop complaining. Her bed side manner was awful, I asked a simple question about my treatment because I didn't know if I was having an MRI and she completely ignored me. I asked to speak to the charge nurse. And I told her I wanted a different nurse, I told her that if I didn't get another nurse, I was going to check out AMA. I was given another nurse named Josh who was absolutely lovely. He gave me my meds right away, seeing that I was in a lot of pain. He was careful with my wrist and answered all my questions and was a pleasure to have as a nurse. But Tamara was awful and I don't ever want her taking care of me again.

On November 13,2025, at approximately 9:25 PM, I encountered two exceptional employees--Jazmine Stoker and Jasmine Welch--who went above and beyond during one of the most difficult moments of my life at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center. I had just received devastating news about my loved one on the 5th floor. After driving in from the DFW area in a hurry and navigating the hospital throughout a very long and emotional day, I was exhausted and simply ready to leave. Unfortunately, the exit I attempted to use was closed, and I had already been redirected multiple times during my visit. When I approached these two young ladies to ask where the nearest exit was, I honestly didn't expect much help. Instead, they immediately offered genuine kindness and compassion. They personally escorted me to the emergency exit door and even asked if I needed a ride to the front with security. At a time when I felt overwhelmed and distressed, their empathy and willingness to assist meant more than words can express. Their professionalism, care, and humanity reflect positively on the values of Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center. Thank you for employing individuals like Jazmine and Jasmine, who make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.

First and foremost. Thank you! As anywhere in life, you will have great experiences, and not so great experiences. But this place is definitely the best place to be if you are sick. I've had my fair share of visits but family members of mine has as well. I have an amazing doctor that works here, not to mention, the cafe area is beyond what you'd expect. I'm just blessed to know that there is a caring hospital who does what they can do get the job done. Thank you
