Patient
After Dr. Iftikar at cardiac intervention specialistrealized my father-in-law needed more advanced care, so he discharged him from the practice. Dr. Iftar doesn't perform surgeries or pacemakers--he mainly runs a series of tests, bills insurance, and then, instead of ensuring the patient gets referred to another cardiologist for serious care, he simply discharges them blaming the reason given for discharge was that we supposedly didn't return a phone call, which felt more like an excuse to shift the blame onto us. We repeatedly tried calling the office and were often promised a call back to schedule an appointment, but no one ever followed through. We also asked multiple times for test results. At first, they refused to provide them over the phone, but when they decided to discharge us, they suddenly had no problem sharing results that way. The office is extremely difficult to deal with, and the doctor was unhelpful. He had no hesitation in ordering every possible test (and billing insurance accordingly), but provided no support when it came to actual patient care. We ultimately had to drive to the office in person just to get test results. I do not recommend wasting your time with this doctor or this practice. They are unprofessional, evasive, and misleading--going so far as to claim they had provided results in past phone calls when they had not (until after sending the discharge notice). Avoid this practice at all costs.
