The nurse and Dr. Apolinario were very thorough and took the time to explain every step clearly. He made sure all of my concerns were addressed and truly helped put me at ease. I really appreciated his patience and professionalism. However, my experience with the front and checkout receptionists was disappointing. I was not aware that my high deductible had to be paid in full--or at least half--prior to being seen, or that my appointment could be declined otherwise. After going through multiple doctor visits over the past month and a half before finally getting an urgent referral to a cardiologist, I expected a bit more compassion and understanding. When I offered to make a smaller payment toward the balance, the receptionist very dryly told me I couldn't be seen unless I paid at least half. The lack of empathy and flexibility in that moment felt unprofessional and disheartening, especially given the urgency of my visit. If it wasn't for the front office and check out receptionists I would've given a 5 star review!
