Unfortunately, I have to leave a very long negative review. Fortunately, I'm alive and well, as is my baby.
Days after delivering at the Clear Lake hospital with a doctor from this clinic (I will not name) I was rushed by my husband to the ER due to uncontrollable vaginal bleeding. I had woken up with a need to pee and while using the restroom, what looked like part of a placenta (this is my third child I'm very familiar with what a placenta looks like) plopped into the toilet and blood began steadily flowing from me. Panicked, I rushed to the ER and promptly had a D&C performed as "birth material" as they called it (they insisted it wasn't placenta but I felt they only did that to avoid any legal issues) was still in my uterus.
This was a terrifying experience for me. As a recovering post partum mother I feel like I experienced a level of neglect by the doctor that delivered my son. Not enough care was taken to ensure all birth material was removed from me at the time of delivery. So then, sincerely my life was put at risk and further than that, they slapped another 5,000+ to my medical bill to perform the d&c, aka fix their mistake. Truly laughable. I also got a UTI the day after I got my catheter out, again, feels like the product of a dirty environment and negligent care.
I would never recommend this clinic even though I actually loved my original OB (not the same doc that delivered) but you risk having to deliver with other OBs on call and it's just not safe.
Just adding that I had delivered 2 babies before this experience and had 0 complications.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Kelcie Alexander to discuss symptoms I believe are related to perimenopause. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling dismissed and misrepresented. While I came in hoping for guidance and support, the conversation quickly shifted to being told I should see a psychiatrist rather than receiving any practical assistance related to perimenopause. To say that my flabbers were ghasted is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I never expected to have this kind of treatment from a women's clinic from a woman physician. I've contacted patient advocacy to see if we can get some....something. I just feel so defeated after having such good experiences previously.

I was very disappointed in my visit to this office. As soon as the nurse assistant brought me to the back, she didn't communicate what she needed from me. She had me sit down and brought out the blood pressure finger reader. I didn't know which she finger she needed and was waiting for her to tell me, until she finally said, I just need a finger while waving it around by my hands. Mind you, no communication before on what she was doing. It was confusing. Then she walks away without telling my husband and I to follow her to the room. She just expected us to know. I wondered if she was coming back so I stepped over to take a look down the hallway where she motioned us to follow. Then the nurse comes in, asks her questions and documents my history wrong. She puts 2019 for unusual test results when it was 2014. I also mentioned I had symptoms that were a result of a disorder revolving around my period. Well they were documented individually so when the doctor comes in she asks if I'm medicated for both symptoms.
The communication was terrible and the cherry on top was when the PA handed me a pamphlet saying she thought that option would be best for me, rather than giving me any information to actually empower me in making my own choice. Just awful. I will not go back there and would not recommend this office. You will be treated as just another number. This office wasn't even covered by my insurance but I chose to go here and self pay. Wish I had gone somewhere else and skipped the lame customer service for an appointment that is already so nerve racking.

Insurance opportunists at the expense of women. I was told they cannot observe more than one thing (pap, IUD, etc) during an exam because insurance won't pay them for it. As a result women must go to multiple appointments and have individual exams for each thing, so they can charge each visit. Women's specialists in clear lake default complete a full exam in one visit if you want to avoid the extra copays and appointments

A poorly run office with legitimately suspicious business practices in regards to billing and testing. If you want to stick with UTMB, a different office would be recommended.
if you go here, be careful with your billing and particularly marked dates of service.
