Patient
Dr Lo is the worse doctor I've ever encountered. My Dad went into Texas Health for an emergency aortic dissection surgery. He survived the surgery but then was assigned Dr Lo as his cardiologist while he was there. My dad was never thriving so he didn't leave the hospital after his surgery, and as the family we couldn't figure out why he wasn't improving. Then almost exactly 3 weeks after he was admitted for surgery, he was rushed back and intubated, and it was discovered that he had a massive heart infection. So bad that it was abscessed and they told us he wouldn't make it through the night. We were shocked. You see, Dr Lo did an ultrasound a week prior on his heart and told us he was fine. That even though he had all of the signs of a heart infection, he was actually good. That those infection signs must be coming from somewhere else. He blamed them on his chest tubes wounds, which did have an infection, but he missed what was right in front of him. He even went as far as releasing him. My Dad only happened to still be at the hospital because of other doctors not releasing him. After we got his medical records we saw that he had a CT scan 5 days after the initial surgery that said his heart was "concerning for infection". Why did Dr Lo never follow up on this? To make matters worse, his attitude was awful after the infection was found. We were asking for options for him, higher level of care, alternative medicine something. He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said " He's probably not going to make it either way so......" After a week of arguing with him he finally got my Dad transferred. The new hospital (Medical cities Dallas Heart) was so much better care. It was completely different then what we experienced with THR and Dr Lo. My Dad did end up passing away there. But the expertise was night and day. Medical Cities Dallas Heart cared. They did everything they could to save him. I wish I could say the same about Dr Lo.
