Terrible outdated hospital. Equipment is all dirty, none of it is covered for sanitation. When we got here, every bathroom we used was covered in urine and not stocked. The room we were admitted to was chipped and dirty, and someone had tried to flush what looked like a wig in the private bathroom. The hospital barely has any night staff, medical and custodial included. The nurses were very nice, but the ancient cardiologist we saw insisted my partners diagnoses (that 5 other doctors agreed on) couldn't be and we shouldn't be seeking the treatment we were seeking. They said they were running the same test 3 separate times and took blood each time (the test was only done once). Basically everything about this place was terrible except the night nurse, and you're better off driving across town or to New Mexico for treatment. Avoid Sierra Providence. Edit: forgot to include they just left random equipment everywhere, including on the floor.

Overall I had a good experience while I was there for about 2-1/2 days for a heart cath. The day nurses, Jessi on the 3rd floor especially are exceptional, as is all other staff on day shift. The main negative I have is the night nurses. It is obvious they don't care about their patients comfort. They let you know they don't want to help you or give the care or meds your doctor has ordered. The staff in the cath lab are top notch. Your care & comfort is of utmost importance! Aaron, Nicole and Mike assisted my amazing doctor and kept me comfortable, informed and you can tell they love their jobs. All other staff in other departments are the same way. From the ones that take your blood, pulmonary, cat scan, etc are the best!! And for Jessi and Pauline on the 3rd floor, Mary in ICU recovery, THANK YOU for your care and compassion. Hopefully you be my caretakers when I return in a few weeks!

A few months ago, I read the reviews for this hospital when my father asked to be admitted here. I was very hesitant and didn't want him to go. All the reviews about people loosing their family members here. But my father wanted to because It was closer to home, and we believed it would make things easier for my mother and me. I never imagined I would be writing a review about losing my father in this very place. It has taken me two months to gather the strength to share our experience. My father was a fighter. He battled pneumonia, two cardiac arrests, and several other complications. During his stay, I constantly had to intervene, fetching nurses because his oxygen levels had dropped dangerously low and he had passed out from lack of oxygen. On three separate occasions, we had to take him back down to the ER because issues were not being properly addressed by the staff. Over the course of three months, we witnessed multiple unacceptable incidents: nurses who were rude and dismissive, they would give my father Xanax because they said he had "panic attacks" but honestly they would just give him the pills so he could go to sleep and they wouldn't deal with him and doctors who failed to communicate crucial information. Specialists from Las Palmas informed us that he needed dialysis due to excess fluid in his lungs, yet despite knowing the urgency, nothing was done. We were told the procedure would be scheduled for the following week, even though his condition required immediate attention. So many things went wrong, and the lack of care and urgency shown to my father is something I will never forget. This experience has left our family heartbroken, and I would never recommend this hospital to anyone.

Absolutely the worst hospital I have been in. Showed up for neck surgery, laid in pre-op for 8 hours with 2 IV lines only for them to cancel the surgery because they didn't have the correct equipment. Many months later, when the surgery was finally done, I saw the physical therapist about 3 times in 9 days. All she had me do was walk to the end of the hall and back. Not sure how that helped with neck rehab. Though I am not diabetic, never been even close to diabetic, nor was I receiving any meds that would affect blood sugar... a nurses aid came in every four hours in the last 3 days of my stay and poked a finger to test blood sugar. Tests were fine. Checked myself out with my doctors approval, though they threatened that my insurance wouldn't pay. Day before surgery, they called me to pay up front for my part of the bill. $1850. Didn't have that much in funds available. So I paid half and then set up a monthly payment plan. I receive a bill each month stating if I don't pay in full, the account will go to collections. If you call their billing section, it is in India. So be prepared. Pick another hospital. For your safety and peace of mind.

There aren't words to say how thankful I am to the staff - from the nurses, therapists and everyone that cared for me. The PTs and OTs are top notch and experts in what they do. Even the cleaning staff was so friendly. They are the absolute best. I am so grateful I chose to come here for my inpatient rehabilitation care.
